Morning Crew! How is everyone? I am still tired, still not sleeping, I might have to look into the PatchMD sleep patch.  But onward!!

OH Mini Meet up with DaizyMom (Teena) was AWESOME!  I am sorry we didn't have more time together!  We talked about all thing WLS and enjoyed talking about how wrong our Centre is and how they give out crap info!!! Teena is beautiful, sweet, kind and everything I expect from a girl who shares my name! LOL LOL LOL Teena is doing so well and I am so proud of her!  Keep up the awesome work girl!! Can't wait to see you again soon!!!  Here is a pic we asked the receptionist at our Centre to take as Teena was checking in!

QOTD: What would you do without OH? Aside from all the awesome friendships I have made in real life I feel like I would be lost and not successful at all without OH. Teena and I talked about this yesterday. All the patients they are pumping out at our Centre everyday and the NUTs are giving them all crap advice (they say go ahead and eat oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat bread for lunch and brown rice for dinner UGH!!!).  If these new patients don't know about OH or do come to OH and don't take the advice of the Vets because they want to follow "their Centre's plan" which for the record I am not saying not to follow your Centre but so much of this post WLS life seems like common sense to me!! I got obese by eating bread & rice pre surgery so why would I eat bread & rice post surgery? Common sense!!! I look at OH as you are all people going through the exact same things I am, the Vets have walked this path before me, I listen and "adapt" my Centre's "Plan" to what seems sensible and reasonable.  I see the OH advice and my Centre's advice like owning & driving a car. Those of you on here have all "driven & own a car" and can tell me what's its like, what works for you, how to navigate the "road."  My Centre its like they are saying "well I have never driven or owned a car or been in car but this what I think you should do, its just an educated guess."  So do I listen to someone who actually owns the car and drives it or someone who has never been in or owned a car? It truly upsets me for all the newbies out there getting bad advice from our Centre!

Morning!

great photo!

Qotd: I really don't know. you guys have been instrumental in my understanding of post op life. And it goes beyond the low carb thing. Advice on managing your blood work, referring me to research and literature on obesity, feedback on fitness, mental health, etc. the whole package. And this is coming from someone whose centre is pretty great overall ( except the carb thing). I can't imagine what it's like for people with out a good centre.

ive been spending a bit more time on instagram, and some of it kills me! This is my sane, safe space haha.

Menu:

B:Skyr with vanilla and bran buds

L: leftover fish cakes I made last night (so good!)

D: tbd

S: I'm out of premiere protein! I thought I had another case! Ack! Think I'll make a trip to Costco tonight, that will probably determine dinner!

have a great day everyone!

It is beautiful out this morning, wet snow is stuck to everything, makes it so pretty, but gotta go shovel pretty soon.

QOTD: We have a very active bariatric group, we meet twice a month and we have a private facebook page that we post on, we have all donated clothing to one of our members that keeps everything in her basement and when you need new sized clothing you can just go and get them for free there, when you lose more weight bring them back and get smaller ones.  We had some fund raisers and had a really nice Christmas party for the group and their spouses. We are getting ready to do some more fund raising for next year's party.  It really is a great group, so between here and there I love all my people!

Wow! You have a great local group! I hate to say it but here in the Houston area the local groups are very dramatic with petty fighting and very stupid choices and horrible advice!

QOTD:  Funny you should say this today....I was just thinking on my drive to work about how I was thankful for everyone on here because I read through my post-op diet plans and there were plenty of things on there I know I shouldn't eat. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, potatoes, etc  How do I know I shouldn't eat these things? ....not because of my NUT or bariatric center but because of you all!  So thank you again!

Day 3 of liquid diet was good and I am down another pound.  Find myself thinking about food a lot and then I am like oh I can't eat anything lol

It feels like it will be forever before I get to eat something again but I know it will be worth it!

Menu- Day 4 Liquid Diet

Breakfast- hot chocolate protein

Snack- premier protein (I am having this earlier today because I am feeling a little hungry this morning)

Snack- Jello

Lunch- Protein beef broth, and protein chicken broth

Snack- Jello

Snack- SF popsicle

Dinner-  cream of chicken soup

Snack-  some sort of protein shake to get my protein numbers up

You are doing great!  I had surgery on the 16th of December (3+ years ago) and between my two week pre-op diet and my two week post-op clear/full liquid diet, I refer to that December as "the month I didn't chew".  However, it was the month I got my head in the game, had surgery, and lost a ton of weight on my way to a healthier, happier me...so it's all worth it in the end!  Keep it up - I promise it's worth it :)

the pre-op liquid diet is the worst part of the WLS process, but you're almost through the worst part of it.  Things started getting a lot better after the first three or four days - I wasn't nearly as hungry after that.  Just keep white knuckling it - it should get easier in another day or two...(I'm not saying easy - but *easier*)

So great that the 2 Daisy's met!  I love the picture!  I feel like I know you guys through OH so I'm so glad you got to meet (more about knowing people on OH below).

DH and I went out for our delayed Valentines Day celebration last night at a grea****erfront restaurant. I had a lot of calories, but it was SO worth it.  Promised picture in the first red dress I have had in maybe 20 years:

QOTD: I feel like OH is largely responsible for my success with WLS. Though I attend an in-person support group, I feel like I don't get the same access to solid advice, nor do I connect with the people the same way.  I told my husband that OH is like talking with friends - learning about their lives, but also learning from each other and being accountable to each other.  He asked me to find him similar online support for Alzheimer's (he has it), so I did. It will be interesting to see how that goes (if he remembers to use it).

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, English muffin and peanut butter

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: leftover ahi tuna from last night - yumm

S: almonds, nut thins and hummus
