Happy Friday-Eve! Hope you get some good news from the doc tomorrow, good that you are able to get in and hopefully be able to ease your mind a bit.

I have a follow up appt this afternoon. It would be amazing if they removed both my remaining drains but I think that's not likely. I'm also hoping to be released to walk a bit more than I am able to right now. Starbucks is 1/4 a mile so there's that wish.

QOTD: I don't really remember weight being discussed at all during childhood. My mother was always overweight but I don't even remember there being a scale in our house.

Time since surgery: 2 years 8 months

B: latte, eggbeaters, turkey sausage links and 1/2 an orange

L: Spaghetti squash casserole

S: latte, Yoplait Greek yogurt with fiber cereal, jerky, and 2 Brazil nuts

D: TJ turkey burger with a slice of cheese and SF jello with cool whip

Totals: Cals: 1104 Protein: 123 Carbs: 90 Fat: 37
E: none
W/V on track
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning JB!

QOTD- I was about 11, and playing at a friends house, running through the sprinkler in a bathing suit when her mom said "Oh my, you're getting a little tummy on you!" What's funny is that I was not at all fat, but I was just starting puberty and in a couple of years I was legit chubby. Here's a pic taken later that summer, I'm the one up front on the bow.

3 wks post RNY / Soft Diet/ 189.6

B- fat free plain yogurt with half a scoop of protein powder

MS - 4 oz active culture cottage cheese

L- 2oz. Tuna Sashimi

AS- 2 oz. Salmon Sashimi

D- Guacamole with cottage cheese

ES - chicken wing

Total Calories: 624 Protein: 72 Carbs: 25

So the evening snack is me trying to be totally honest. Today is my going away party at work, we're going for sushi, and I'm getting sashimi which is fine. But tonight is a birthday party, and there will be some healthy options, like the cottage cheese guacamole that was suggested here :) But I'm likely to eat a chicken wing. This pushes up my total calories for the day but I know I will eat one wing.

Just be careful- I see you are on soft foods and chicken might not sit well. Are you on soft or puree?

I'm on soft food - I will chew it into a slurry... Who knows, maybe I'll be able to resist but I have been literally DREAMING about the chicken they're having all week.

I ended up missing/skipping the morning snack of cottage cheese so at least that buys me a few calories ;-)

Happy Thursday! JB, Good luck with your appointment. I can't wait to hear what the Dr. tells you, since this is an ongoing issue with me. I've given up caffeine again in the hopes it will help. I'm weaning and will stick to decaf for a while (I know it's not 100% caffeine free, but my surgeon is fine with decaf)

JBQOTD - This issue came up on my run this weekend. We were talking about food and body image issues. I have 2 that I'll share (there are more, but I don't want you all to be here all day reading). I was a chunky kid, then I slimmed down before I went back up . . . and up . . . and up. I also grew up in a time that was considered considerably safer, and I was in the suburbs. Anyway, there was a man who had grandkids who lived in the neighborhood. He was called "the candyman" since when he picked up his grandkids from the park, he always brought extra candy for everyone . . . except me. He flat out looked at me one day and said "you don't need any candy" and refused to give me anything. Until very recently that story was buried deep. Feel how you want to feel, but I was like 6, maybe have some more tact. The second happened when I was in middle school. We had track and field days and my PE teacher wanted to win, so she put me in the anchor position, figuring my weight would hold everyone back. At the time, I was chunky, but not obese. Painful.

My plan . . . is again up in the air:

B: Egg bites

L: No idea. We're taking a co-worker out for her birthday. She keeps kosher so we're going to a kosher restaurant. It's considered a "dairy" restaurant so no meat (Grim, don't pass out). They do have eggs, etc. so either an omelette or a salad with tuna (fish is allowed) I brought an extra meat serving in case lunch turns out to be a bust. Edited to add I had an omlette with goat cheese and sun dried tomato. Poor planning on my part since I had egg bites for breakfast . . . that's a lot of eggs for one day. Sigh.

D: Another big question mark. I have steak or chicken in the fridge so we'll see

S: Skinny (decaf) latte, turkey & Cheese roll ups, dannon light and fit (not all but I have it all available)

E: most likely a run after work. I need to get one more in this week. I'm hesitant because it's going to be HOT here today and it's windy . . . and look at me talking myself out of it.

Good morning! Beautiful day! Nice weather is so motivating for me, I want to be active and productive. I'm just happier. As time goes on I am finding that I really enjoy and look forward to exercise more and more. The sad part is that I am also noticing more skin in places I don't like. Last night while swimming, I noticed my inner thighs are really getting loose, boo! I see lots of plastics in my future, I'm already planning for it.

QOTD - I was clueless about my weight until 6th grade when I saw a classmate mouth 'one-thirty-five' to a bunch of other kids and every one started laughing. That was physical day w/public weigh in's. My weight was 135. I was mortified.

5 months tomorrow!

b- coffee w/heavy cream, splenda

b2- beef jerky

l- chicken

d-meatballs w/ SF teriyaki sauce

v/l - finally got more calcium chews, yay! Although I can swallow the calcium horse pills now, I truly hate them.

e-gym or possible hike w/sister!!

Have a great

Crazy week for me even though it's vacation week because I have to drive into Boston everyday. It takes about two hour in heavier traffic. Hi do you do that daily JB?

QOTD: I just remember contstantly being teased and called names like "tub of lard" or "fatso". Then to make things worse my dad,who was least overweight mind you, nick named me "pudgy" and every relative picked up on it and tarted calling me that. Can you imagine my horror when they call me that in front of friends? So I always knew I was fat, hell it was my name!
