morning weekend crew!

It has been crazy rainy here. So much so, there are a lot of areas currently flooded. We signed up as volunteers to help sandbag, so we're keeping our weekend plans open in case we get the call.

Last night we did another escape room. We didn't escape, but it was still fun. My favourite part was the fact that there were all kinds of little rooms, and crawl spaces I was able to navigate, which would have been near impossible a year ago!

qotd: since it's so rainy out, what's everyone's suggestion for a good movie or tv series to binge through this weekend? Old or new.

My husband mentioned season two of Sens8 is out, which I'm curious to see where it goes!

a recentish comedy I thought would be terrible but loved was Keanu! I should have known I'd like it considering Key and Peele made it!

But I've been kind of in the mood for a good western . I watched Jane got a gun a while back and enjoyed it. I might end up re watching Rio Bravo

menu:

B: protein shake.

L/D: no idea to be honest...but I think it might include bacon...

That's some great meal planning right there!

I'm headed out to the MD Sheep and Wool Festival for the weekend. I'm volunteering so I'll be there the whole time. I've packed some snacks for munching, but the food situation is a bit up in the air. I thought of not going this year, but decided that it was time to venture out and do my best with good decisions.

Breakfast: egg whites with LF Mexican cheese

Snack: deli turkey

Lunch: deli turkey

Snack: string cheese

Dinner: ?

Exercise: lots of walking and moving around, but hopefully I will have enough energy left to go to the gym for a bit in the evening

Good morning Menu Family!!! Was supposed to be a weekend around the house but our area got hit with a pretty bad storm yesterday afternoon high winds lots of trees and power lines down. I did not lose power at home but at the office they did. So when I found out my office lost power I called our outside provider and asked them to shut down the network but I need to into the office and reboot the systems and clear locks and make sure things are good to go for fools like me that work on weekends and for Monday morning. Then I can start on my list of things I had for home....

QOTD: We loved the Newsroom and have really missed it since it ended it run.

Food for the day:

B: hard boiled egg white, 2 slices of bacon and half calf coffee.

L: roast beef

D:?? I think we are going out

So much rain and storm damage everywhere (just rain where I am, but so tough in other areas of the country)!

I seem to be getting everyone upset with me in my house, so I think I will hibernate. DH is angry about some tests related to Alzheimer's that he says he didn't know about (he did of course). DS is upset because I expressed concern about his finances... I guess I need to just zip it.

QOTD: If you have Netflix - Grace and Frankie

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese (possibly 1/2 English muffin and PB mid-morning)

L: tuna fish, pickles and cottage cheese

D: possibly left-over 1/2 burger and veggies, unless we go out (in which case I'll be generating more leftovers)

S: hummus, protein bar

I know how you feel! When they don't want to hear it even though it needs to be said... I have a hard time with that.

Good morning everyone!

We're getting the same ridiculous amount of rain and we've had a submersible pump going in the back yard on and off for 3 days. The prediction is that by the end of the weekend we'll have 3x more rain already this year than we had all of last year. It just won't stop...

Work is really busy and I haven't been able to find the time to post my daily menu too often but I'm still hopeful that might change soon. I want to stay connected here.

We'll be heading out shortly for me to get my 6 month blood work done and follow that up with some errands and we've planned a "see where the day takes us" afternoon. I've got 1/2 a premier coming along with me to add to coffee and some turkey bites if I needed.

QOTD Grace and Frankie is a great Netflix original (two seasons), I watch them both pretty much straight through and the cast is incredible. The most recent one I watched was 13 Reasons, it's about high school kids so at times I felt a little old to be watching and there are parts that are just plain hard to watch but it's unfortunately all too relevant.

just a drive-by because I'm on my way out the door to an all-day meditation and yoga workshop (for the "well-being" research study I'm in)

23 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, flaxseed, strawberries

S: coffee with half & half, peach melba protein shake

L: not sure - I have a protein bar with me in case I can't find anything "safe"

D: Caribbean pork stir fry (with zucchini, onion, carrot, bell pepper, diced tomatoes)

another yogurt if I can afford the calories, but I'm trying to keep closer to the bottom of my range these days - my weight is up near the top of my range. I think it might be backup, but just in case, I'm keeping on the low end of calories.

Good Morning RNY'ers!! Works had me busy so no time to post on the weekday thread. I've been on my run, dressed and am at bowling. Next week is the final week (yes!). This weekend is the Broad St Run- a 10 miler. I'm thinking about doing this next year. Overall I don't see the point in races, I can't wrap my head around paying an entry fee to do something I can do for free. Today I need to return or exchange a pair of shoes. I'll probably sit down and work on our budget- hubby and I are on different pay schedules now with his new job. And maybe mop the kitchen floor (my most hated chore).

Qotd: my latest two Netflix binges were wentworth and 13 reasons why. I need to circle back to house of cards to see what I've missed.
