Pre Admission Testing today... wow. I had forgotten about all the testing that is done. When I had the Lap Band in 2008 I don't think that I went through as much testing. ??

We met with the dietitian talked about what are Good Food choices and Bad Food choices. Protein levels that we are supposed to reach each day. My Doctor doesn't give a Calorie Count.. just a protein, sugar, fat... gotta keep it under 2 g of added sugar a day, and 68 g (give or take 10 ) of protein a day.

Taking a multi-vitamin is stressed.. every day, forever and ever. I got a couple samples of Bariatric vitamins, not sure which route I will go on that.

I have a lot to read over before the big day, June 6th!!

I met a nice gal in my group, I am hoping to be able to stay in touch with her. Thank you everyone for all the input and encouragement each of you bring.

Congratulation on getting closer to surgery...My Doc never gave a calorie count either, I never found that to be a problem during the losing phase, now in maintenance, I do pay more attention to that.

I hope they stressed more than just a multivitamin....calcium? iron? B-12? to name a few...

Good Luck, it is right around the corner...

I take 2 flintstones a day. That was my surgeons recommendation. They're tasty too.

Double-check with your dr's office, sounds like you may need more than Flintstones. I was told they were ok as well, but most have to take calcium, b12, vita D too. No judgement... just don't want you to be caught with not enough.

Oh yeah I take calcium chewable with D, sublingual B12, & bariatric Iron chewables. But the MVs are Flintstones.

Like a true roller coaster, that first vertical drop is a bit of a doozy.

Congratulations, and good luck!

As far as vitamins, you will need 2 multivitamins per day, and 500 mg of calcium citrate 3 times per day. All of those need to be 2 hours apart. And most everyone, long term, ends up needing additional B12, D3, and iron.

Children's vitamins and gummies are NOT acceptable for us. They are missing a great many things. If you take supplements, they might as well be good quality.

You can get away with taking crappy vitamins or none in the short term. But we see many people long term who are noncompliant, and they end up with horrible illnesses.

I get my vitamins from Vitalady.com, they are made for WLS patients. The exception is my MV as well and it is also a gummy.
