Lap Band to RNY revision cancelled

I got a call yesterday from the Surgeon's office. Procedure has been cancelled. So the pre-surg exam included a chest xray, and the results came back and they said there is something there that we need to look at. Soo, within minutes I get a call back and I have a CT with contrast scheduled. This morning at 8 am I had the CT scan. Please pray it turns out ok. Also, what was supposed to be my surgery on Tuesday morning, is now going to be an EGD, upper scope. The doc isn't happy with my last EGD scope pictures, so he wants to go down there and look for himself. I am soo frustrated that I just want to cry. I have jumped through soo many hoops and now this. My husband says that he is relieved to know that my surgeon is this thorough and would rather he be overly cautious than just get in there and slice and dice. LOL So, now I wait for CT scan results (praying for good news) and then Tuesday I get scope and not the revision. thanks for letting me vent.

That's so frustrating! Did they say if it was structural or other? I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Oh no! So sorry to hear this. I know how much you were looking forward to the bypass. Stay positive - hopefully it is nothing to be concerned about. Keep us posted.

Prayers that everything is OK!!

The CT scan is checking a spot they see and the lady at the Pre surg testing called it a Left Hilar Mass. Ohh, let me tell you, I should NOT have looked it up.. nothing good about it. Soo.. I had the CT scan and the entire time I was getting scanned I had tears just pouring down my face. This certainly has scared me. The upper EGD isn't as scary as I have had problems with ulcers above my band, because medication sits on the band area and erodes at it. Soo.. Doc needs to see it with his own eyes, I guess. Holy Schmoly.

Thankfully my Sweet Husband has been incredible, knowing that I am worried. Today I am thankful to have a thorough doctor and a supportive loving husband.

Yes, thank goodness you have a thorough surgeon. You've got a supportive husband and the folks here at OH are cheering for you. Just take some deep breaths and know everything will be fine.

I had my revision from band to rny 6/1/17. I too was nervous about my pre-op for this very reason. Just know that everything happens for a reason and you will get through this and your surgery will be scheduled and done in no time. I am rooting for you!!

These things usually happen for a reason, and the shift in cir****tances often turns out more favorable. Hard to see while you're in the frustrating part of the journey. They are getting you in and scheduled for tests really quickly. Godspeed. May all be well.
