Read the post about face droop. It was bad enough when the little girls fell( didn't think that was even possible) but with the weight loss my face fell. As far as sizes I don't get it either. I wear a size 10 zip up blue jeans and my mother ----yes she is still alive-- I get that shocked look a lot.She weighs the same as me and wears size 14 ??

Yep I am 5 foot 11 inches or maybe a smidge under that as I have shrunk a little with age, lol.

at 5' 11' and 135 this is what the BMI calculator shows:

Wow, kudos to you for hitting that weight. My original goal was 160 but I don't think I could even get there. My centre is happy if I don't drop anymore but I would like to get down to 170 at least for the dreaded bounce back!!

Wow, the BMI chart I have shows normal range from 140-170 for a woman 5'11". Every chart I've seen shows you would be borderline underweight at 135.

I'm 5'3" and it shows normal range for me at 120-140

I say, do whatever makes you happy. If you want to get down to 135, go for it. It's not like you can't regain if you decide you're not happy with the way it makes you look or feel. If you are happy, even better.

I think ladies clothing sizes were invented solely to torture us, right along with high heeled shoes.

Good luck!

At this point, losing ten more pounds is not going to affect your health. If you really need to lose it to feel better about yourself, go ahead and lose it. It's a LOT easier losing it now than it will be a couple of years from now.

Regain is NOT written in stone. If you are very vigilant, you can hit a weight and stay within 5 pounds of it for the rest of your life, barring some illness. BUT. Chances are, you will be like most people and you will regain 10 to 20 pounds between years 1 and 3. I think if you lose 10 more now, and then gain 10 or 20 down the road a little, you'll be happier than if you stay pat now, and then gain 10 or 20.

Grim, that is EXACTLY my thinking on the matter. Except you put it much more succinctly.

Hi! How are you?

My goal was 185. I changed it when I found that 179 was the beginning of "normal." My surgeon told me not to set targets. "My body will find it's own bottom and that you will gain back 10% of what you lost, naturally". It made me nervous when I hit 167.

I did "naturally" stop at 166. I haven't gained anything back yet (a pound). Truth is I'm happy at 167. But, I don't worry about getting back to the 170's.

If you want 135 and you are OK with 145, go for the 135 (or the natural bottom). You will gain back a little even if you are good! :)

Oh yeah, also don't worry about size. Buy a basic wardrobe but not the great stuff! I have treated myself to great underwear (Mack Weldon) and socks (Bombas) :) !!! For now it's Landsend and Dockers...

I've learned that your weight will redistribute for about a year after bottom. Less bones sticking out, probably less loose skin. They told me not to consider surgery or buy your final wardrobe until one year after bottom.

So I am 5'11" tall and can't imagine weighing 135- as a matter of fact it would be impossible unless I was practically dead because my lean body mass that I did through dexascan bodyfat testing was 127 pounds ...which at 135 would leave me with 7lbs fat and 5% bodyfat... not a good look.

I weigh around 163-165lbs and wear a size 6 jeans easily. As long as they are talls :) Still wear a size 6 in regular jeans but sometimes the legs don't work. You're tall, you get it. I have a few size 10 shorts/capris I wear, but only because I want them to sit lower on my hip and not look so short...

The Doctor maybe right about the skin. While skin doesn't weigh a lot, and while at 135 your BMI would technically be normal, it is very low end of normal. When I had my Lower Body lift, it looked like I had 30-40lbs to lose, later that day, he had taken off a total of 4.5lbs. BTW I am also 58.

A woman in my support group is 6', we weigh the same, I wear smaller clothes than her and look smaller...everyone is different...

We do become focused on numbers. I get it. Paying for a Dexascan for Bodyfat testing was money well spent. It helped me get a mental grip on the reality of my body...
