Just curious.

It's got elements of a sleeve gastrectomy in regards to what they do to the stomach and elements of RNY with the bypassed part of the intestine.

The bypass part is different though. Food takes a shorter path through the intestine in a DS and has less time to be absorbed. Something like that. This is definitely a question for an actual surgeon. I only play one on TV

DS is the most complex of the surgeries.

Scott's right - it's a sleeved stomach paired with an (intestinal) bypass that's much longer than what's bypassed in the RNY.
