6 month update

Hello everyone

I have been crazy busy with life and I truly wish that I had time to come back to OH daily.

July 4th marked my 6 month surgiversary!

So hard to believe how quickly time flys...

My starting weight was 283 lbs. I am now 180 lbs.

I have lost 103 lbs. Woo hoo!

I surpassed my weight management team's goal of 190 lbs. I am 5 lbs. from goal weight of 175.

I have gone from a size 22-24 - 3XL-4XL to a 10-12... WHAT????? Crazy....

I look freakin amazing, & feel freakin amazing.

OMG !!! I still can't believe it! Best decision in my life.... No regrets !

I love love love the positive feedback!!!

I often run into people who don't recognize me at first pass! I feel healthier. I am more active & I am in awe....

There are are so many ....

More energy

Happier

My sons, family & friends are proud of me.

Went dress shopping for my son's graduation, went into change room with (12 ) size 12 dresses

I can comfortably cross my legs

Able to participate in a anti-gravity yoga

Cycling 10 km daily

I have knees

I can see my collarbones & ribs

I have more stamina

I feel beautiful for the first time in a long time

No longer exhausted & SOB

Sit comfortably in a Coach Bus seat

I have a bounce in my step.

More confident & self assured

Include myself in photo ops

Honestly... There are thousands of moments that I could share...

For those of you that have had your weigh loss surgery? Congratulations!!! Keep up the hard work!

For those of you that are sitting on the fence?

Jump off and take a chance....

Has this journey been easy??? NO

There is a lot of hard work, perseverance & dedication. So completely worth it!

There are been a few bumps along the way, but so completely & utterly worth it!

This journey has been truly amazing & worth every single moment....

Sandra you are rocking it. Congrats on EVERYTHING. I am so glad you are proud of yourself, by no means is this easy! I can't wait to put up a post like you did. I am only 17 days post op my goal is to lose 50 by 6 months.

Again you are doing amazing keep up the great work, I am also proud of you!

Referred April 2016, Orientation September 21, 2016; Psyc appointment November 23, 2016; Nurse Practitioner assessment November 30, 2016; Nutrition Class December 7, 2016; Social Worker assessment December 9, 2016; Nutrition 1:1 January 26, 2017 and Surgeon April 7, 2017; Pre-admission June 12, 2017; Surgery date June 20, 2017 with Dr. T. Jackson TWH.

Pre surgery loss 20 lbs, M1-17 lb, M2-16, M3-16.2, M4-7, M5-10.8, M6-+8, M7-4, M8-

Goal 1- 50 pound loss by Jan. 1, 2018 (245.6 lbs) reached August 10, 2017

Goal 2 - 100 pound loss by June 21, 2018 (one year post op) (195.6) reached TBD

Congrats! That is awesome! My surgery is scheduled for august 2nd and we have very similar starting weights. I hope am as successful as you when I am 6 months out!

Why did you choose 175 as your goal weight? From your BMI I believe you are around my height. I am in my 50's. The older I get, the better my joints feel at a lighter weight.

Hello Laura!

How are you?

I chose 175 because it is the weight I was when I was 22 years old.

I am 5 8" & have a large bone structure, size 11 W feet. The professional volleyball player Gabriela Reese was 175 lbs of solid muscle.

Quite honestly anything below 175 is a bonus...

I am not sure how I will look or feel below that weight. Here is a pic. I was much younger & clearly did not have the excess skin that I have now...

What are you thoughts?
