My birthday is 2 weeks away and I am just 3 weeks out of surgery now. Will be 5 weeks when my birthday comes around. I know that I need to stay away from birthday cake and anything sweet. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could have a special treat for my birthday in place of cake. I will be able to eat all foods come then. TIA.

My Mom ( and I am 49) made me a "Cake" of seedless watermelon covered in whipped topping and berries, was a much healthier version of "Cake".

I wish I had a picture on my work computer that I could share....

I was 4 weeks out from surgery on my 50th birthday, and someone here suggested a slice of watermelon with SF whipped cream on top. I just stuck a candle in my pureed meat and sang anyway.

HI,

My bday was 2 weeks post op this past July so this wasn't even a thought. That being said, maybe SF pudding with a candle?

I would do SF pudding, but I have had so much of it lately that I don't even wait to look at it. I'm sure you understand.

How about treating yourself to a pedicure instead? I think disassociating celebration with food is the best gift you can give yourself.

That's a good idea. It doesn't have to be food that's just what it has always been so having to break the habit.

Why not make the special treat non-food related? Treat yourself to something, an experience, an activity. Why must it be food? I get cake is tradition- but you can define a new tradition?
