Zquil????

I haven't been sleeping much this week. Can't attribute it to anything specific - it happens from time to time. If I go more than 3 or 4 nights without a restful night's sleep I consider taking something to help. I've actually been sleeping much better since my RNY in June 2016 so haven't taken any type of sleep aid in the past year. Haven't even really had a cold to take my Nyquil which usually will make me sleep like a baby. I haven't looked at any product labels yet - I know I need to avoid ibuprofen. Does anyone know if Zquil is ok for us RNYers and if so, if it works? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Ive taken Nyquil on occasion and imagine Zquil will work fine. I find any of the OTC sleep meds work a treat and in the long run are much cheaper than Zquil

Unlike Ny-quil, Zquil has no pain reliever or NSAID in it. The only active ingredient is diphenydramine-- the exact same ingredient as Benadryl. Antihistamines like that are safe after WLS, so you should be OK.

Nyquil has acetaminophen, which is WLS safe.
