Harvey is messing with my surgery! Total Panic

ky gastric bypass is scheduled for Monday, but now with Hurricane Harvey the hospital does't know if they are having surgeries on Monday or not! I won't know until Sunday. I was all zen and ready and now the uncertainy is killing me! Help!!!

Harvey does look like he's going to be a monster!! Where is your hospital?

If you DO have to be rescheduled, it's just one of those things that can't be helped, but I certainly understand your disappointment.

My surgery is at UTMB which is on Galveston Island. They did my pre-op interview a few minutes ago and just said to cross my fingers. Sigh

A friend of mine works at UTMB - non medical. She told non essential staff has already been given Friday and Monday off work.

Sorry if this means bad news, to you. Just remember this is a TEMPORARY set back!!!!!!

Arg! But when are they going to tell ME??? Sigh. I need to chill, but I just want to know! Wah wah wah. If I am not having surgery Monday, I'd really like some eggs.

I feel your pain. I am in Houston. In 2008, Ike hit us 5 days before my RNY. The whole city was closed down and most of the city lost power, but thankfully the med center was OK and my surgery went on as planned.

Thanks, Deb!! We have water, food, and full tanks of gas. We secured all our outdoor furniture.

I'm sure our streets will flood, but we will stay home safe and sound!!

That's cool, but you know how the island gets. Harborside floods if it gets 2 inches of rain. I'd have to boat to the hospital.

I think I would prefer to have an elective surgery when the hospital is not stressed and has a full work load there.
