Having a hard time emotionally

Hugs! The loss of our friend and companion, food, can be really difficult sometimes. As others have said, it will improve once you can have something other than fluids and purees. I ate alot of SF popsicles early on and they seemed to help for some reason.

HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.

Totally normal, at least it was for me. My emotions were all over the place, and I was definitely a bit of a bear at one point too hahah. In addition to working with the support staff at my clinic, here are things that I found helpful:

-keeping a list of reasons why handy and reading it often.

-logging on here or Instagram as a distraction and support.

-reading a lot about behaviour change.

-make small goals to work towards. I need that sense of accomplishment.

When I feel depressed and have anxiety I try to write a list of why I had the surgery. What I will and will be able to do.

Coming here and asking for help is a good thing.

Try making a list of what you can eat and what you shouldn't.

At four years out I can be a real tyrant. Depression and anxiety is one thing I would never wish on anyone. It is a horrible feeling.
