Good morning everyone! I am up early and won't be able to post if I don't start it today, so I am jumping in (can't do it every day, though!).

Accountability: Super proud of myself for getting back to basics yesterday. I had an out of control weekend so it felt good to be back in control. I also very cautiously got myself back on the elliptical machine and was pleased to find that it didn't hurt my achilles at all. Yay! I plan to binge watch Wentworth on Netflix to keep me on it every day ;)

QOTD: Did you know someone in real life who had surgery before you? How have they done? I had my lap-band before anyone else I knew IRL. Since then my mom had RNY. She is doing great, but struggled with a typical 12lb gain when she hit 3 years, but otherwise she's going great. I have a boat load of acquaintances (like friends from elementary school and old co-workers) who haven't told me, but it is very obvious that they did. I recently counted my FB friends who I suspect had some kind of WLS and I was up to 8!

Morning!! I'm up unusually early thanks to the dog. She got all kinds of sick in her crate. I'm so over dog ownership! She still needs a bath, but will at least wait for daylight- for now she banished to the deck that can at least be hosed down. I'm thinking of staying home from work again today- I feel a bit better but do feel like I'd be pushing it going back. I have a headache that I just took something for. If I don't go in I'll at least check emails- I ignored the world yesterday.

Accountability: yesterday was hard mentally-- had an aha moment and felt more relaxed about things, but not before I made some poor choices. I have to keep it in perspective, my worst day now is worlds away from my worst (or even my best) day pre-op.

Qotd: My cousin has lap band, niece has lap band and sister had VSG, all before me. They all lost significant weight, I guess to their personal goals. My cousin also had tummy tuck and breast augmentation. They have all gained most if not all of their weight back now. They dont follow any of the rules, and are always in shock when they see me still taking vitamins, not drinking with/ directly after meals etc. they made it easy for me to see what you shouldn't do.

200 today , 2.4 years out

m1: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage

m2: Greek yogurt, berries

m3: left over chicken from last night

m4: mini meatloaf

I'm now 7# above my comfort zone- and 3 above my oh crap zone. Ive been here before and will get out of this place again.

I decided to give myself a week before I weigh in after this weekend (and the week that led up to it) because I know I am well above my "oh crap" number and I'm worried that seeing it will crush me, not motivate me. We'll both get back!

I get it- totally. I need to know- good, bad or indifferent. Or else I'll convince myself everything is rosey.

I hope you feel better and you doggy too. We had a similar issue with Ruppert last week in his crate, and when he gets a tummy-ache he tries to sooth it by eating his bedding...gross.

You will get where you want to be-stay strong.

Grrr oh ate my post!!

qotd: kinda. A woman I went to high school with is a band to DS revision. Except, that's not how she described it on Facebook...She had a ton of complications with her band, and I don't begrudge what she was feeling, but She was super dramatic, talking about how she wasn't given any choice, it's the only thing to save me, they have to take my intestines out etc... she also literally ate a Big Mac as her first solid meal post op.

None of this would matter except this was right around the time I was starting my three week pre op diet, and had just told my family about my surgery. It meant a lot more educating and reassuring was needed on my part.

Accountability: food was good, water was good.

Menu:

B: premier and coffee

L: rotisserie chicken

D: bunless burger. We're hosting hubby's softball team tonight for an end of season BBQ.

have a good day everyone!

Good morning! The news from Florida is that our park has power, no injuries, and no major damage (no trees down, just debris and some soffits blown off). So far everyone we know did okay.

QOTD: A couple of people at work had RNY. One did well for 5+ years, but had a significant regain when laid up for foot surgery. I haven't seen her in person recently, so don't know if she is getting her weight back down. The other, who was SMO pre-WLS, dropped probably to just obese about 4 years ago and seems to be staying there more or less. The long-term WLS people who keep coming to support group and manage well still have periods when their weight is up 10-20 pounds, but have rules they follow to get regain back off. It appears that it is having that solid set of rules (tracking, water, high protein, etc.), which make the difference in the long run.

17 months post-op (maintenance), 60 or fewer work days to retirement.

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: grilled chicken Caesar salad

S: Halo top
