FOOD MAKING YOU SICK

I will be 12 weeks out tomorrow and the last 2 weeks everything I eat is making me so sick. I'm sticking to my plan and I have contact the doctor, but wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.

My stomach craps, sometime I have to go to the restroom, vomiting, and sometimes I just have to go and lay down. I started cutting out foods to see if it was a certain food that was making me sick and have gone down to a very plain diet and I'm not finding a certain food that is making me sick. So today I'm starting back on the liquid diet until I hear back from the doctor. Just trying to see if this is normal or what. I am taking all of my vitamins daily and I'm getting between 64 to 100oz of water/liquid a day.

A lot of people have issues with food early out after surgery. What kinds of foods are you eating?

Stomach cramps, vomiting and feeling bad sounds kind of like you are dumping from what you are eating... which makes me curious as to what you are eating?

Other people (like myself) get/got foods 'stuck' early out, either from it being too dry, not chewing enough, or just a plain persnickety pouch. Give us an idea of what you are eating, and perhaps it'll help better explain what's going on.

I did have problems with food getting stuck in the beginning, but the doctor went in with the scope and corrected that. I normally eat the something for the most part. The doctor wants me to get in 100 grams of protein a day so all I really eat is protein. Never had a problem with the food making me sick like this until about two weeks ago. I do change up the seasonings on the meat to give me some different flavors, but these are the same seasonings that I have been using since I was able to start.

Chesses sticks

Sausage patties

Bacon

Chicken (different spices)

Steak

ground beef (94/6%)

Edited to add ground beef. I do eat a lot of ground beef with taco seasoning added to it.

I eat about 2oz a meal and it takes me 30 minutes to an hour to eat. I normally do something while I'm eating I have a real problem eating to fast, but as long as I have my mind on something else I eat slow like I should. So I don't think that is the problem when I eat to fast or take to large of a bite I have a lot of pain in my pouch area not really sick to my stomach. I have never counted my chews I just chew until it is like a paste and as for gravy with meats I was told to stay away from all gravy so I haven't had any.

I have not been. That was one thing that I was worried about, but while trying to figure out what is going on I stopped eating dairy for a few days and there was no change. For example this morning I had about 15 pistachios it took me about 25 minutes to eat them with in 30 more minutes I was sick and having to run to the restroom. Then after my stomach settled down I drank some what and within 15 minutes I was sick to my stomach again and had to run to the restroom. This is plain water nothing added. I'm just at a loss.

What are you eating?

How much do you eat in a sitting?

How long does it take you to eat?

I would suggest scaling back to softer, moist foods for a bit. Some people have a lot of trouble with beef until they're a bit further out from surgery. A few ideas:

  • Baked or canned fish
  • Ground beef in sauce to make it moist (like spaghetti sauce)
  • Dark meat chicken, shredded
  • Greek yogurt
  • Cottage cheese
  • Ricotta bake
