Post op calories/macros

Hi I'm about 2.5 weeks post op. I am currently on soft food and supplementing with premier protein about once a day.

My average for the past week:

Protein: 65-75 G

Sugar : under 10

Calories: 400-500

Carbs: 25-30

I feel like my calorie count for the day is too low, but I'm eating protein dense, low carb food that tends to be low in calories. I'm not all that hungry. Is this where most of you were post op? I know I should be getting in more protein, but any other suggestions?

I think you're pretty much in the same ballpark as the rest of us.

Liquids are super important too.

Your calories are right on the money. My NUT told me to not exceed 600 cals the first 3-4 months and then to keep it under 800 cals while actively losing weight. Maintenance is a whole different ballpark.

I love this. My nutritionist at the clinic told me she wants my calories around 1200 and wants to see more carbs... I am letting that one go in one ear and out the other...

Isn't it weird? I don't understand this discrepancy amongst NUTs! Mine is associated with the surgeon and they run a tight ship. 1200 is for "normal" people who wanna lose 10-15 lbs, not ppl who had to have surgery to stop eating. Sheesh!

as long as you have stored fat to burn, and most of us who qualified for bariatric surgwrydid/do have, you don't really have to worry about calories being too low.

Keeping your calories low, forces your body to burn atorwdnfat and that is what causes weight loss.
