I got my days right today! Good morning and Happy Friday Eve!

Today's a road day. We are heading home after a quick broker visit. Yesterday was such a long day! We had to be at the venue by 8, had a full day of seminars including one that I helped to present. Then there was a meet and greet for a couple of hours and finally dinner. I have to say the dinner was superb! We went to this place called Lot 81 and it's a steakhouse. They bring the steak to you on a sizzling lava stone, cooked rare and you can cook it more on the stone. You can also just have them prepare to order if you want but it was delicious. Anyway we got back to the hotel at 10:30. This post is coming to you from my delightfully cozy bed at The Hilton.

QOTD: What is a gift you have given to someone who doesn't really need anything and ended up being very much appreciated? Thank you to Liz for the question. My in-laws are pretty tough to buy for but they do give us a list of things they like or need every year which is helpful. However they love to eat out so they really enjoy a gift card to their favourite restaurant. Another one was for my dad. On a whim one year I picked him up a lap desk because he loves to read fan fiction on his laptop. He uses it a lot.

Accountability- I had a couple of appetizers at the meat and greet that weren't wls friendly. But other than that I did well all day. I think the apps put me slightly over my calories for the day but I didn't have a chance to log them yet.

Menu: Another up in the air day. Today I have no idea what the plans are at all. The hotel had a couple of decent choices yesterday so I'm hoping for the same today and planning to drink more water today. Lunch will probably mean stopping at a coffee shop along the way and if that happens I will eat a protein bar.

Morning!

Accountability: Went out for a surprise dinner last night and had a yummy Blood Orange Margarita along with my steak. Delish. Going out for dinner again tonight, so it is TBD on my menu.

QOTD: When I have a person who is hard to buy for (like my dad!) I look on Groupon for an "event" to get tickets to. I often buy people tickets to boat rides along Boston Harbor, restaurant gift certificates, or tickets to a play or museum event. It is always a unique and welcome gift.

I love getting people 'experiences' whenever I can, especially for the harder to buy folks. I always forget about Groupon though, I need to remember to check there when I do that!

Good morning menu folks!

Teena, sounds like you are doing great with your travels. Way to go!

I had an appointment with my pulmonologist yesterday and all went well. With the weight loss and exercise, I have gained a significant amount of lung capacity even without being on my asthma meds any more. That is another excellent NSV.

I also saw my primary care doc about my breast lump. She isn't completely sure about my changing breast tissue either, but she agrees that I do have one area that feels different. She has prescribed a mammogram and ultrasound and wants me to get them done quickly. I will call today to try to get on the schedule. I am trying not to worry to much about it and just be proactive.

I am at goal and trying to adjust to maintenance. I am trying to add in some extra calories, but having some trouble with it. When I eat more I feel overly full and with my snacks, I don't usually feel hungry enough to eat more. Consequently, I am still losing weight. Not alot, but I've lost almost another 5 pounds since goal. I know that the surgeon is going to be really upset since he really wants me to gain, but I'm not really worried about it. I'm just working on increasing healthy calories until I level out.

Edited to add QOTD: I try to make something small that is handmade. People react in different ways, but I like to add the personal touch.

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 2 oz ham

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake

Lunch: TJ's chicken sausage

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: pork chops, cauliflower

Exercise: deep water aerobics
