What fruits are exceptable as you heal and move onto regular foods?!
You'll find that most people advise against fruit in the early stages, and through the weight-loss phase due to the sugar/carb content. That in mind, you'd likely want to stick with things that can be easily mashed, or applesauce depending on what phase of the diet you're in. Check with your surgical center to see what they advise.

While my surgeon's office allowed fruit, especially unsweetened applesauce early on, I did not start eating fruit until I was done losing. The carbs were a problem for me and still can trigger cravings for less healthy options. If you chose to eat fruit during the losing phase, follow your surgeon's guidance, but know that for folks who have lost and maintained well, they limit fruit.

I don't think I had any early on (i.e., for the first couple of months). Things like seeds, skins, and raw produce can be hard on healing stomachs. However, I did start eating small amounts of it after that - mostly berries with my morning yogurt, but some other fruit as well. About one fruit serving a day. HOWEVER, I'm not very carb-sensitive, and a lot of people on here *are*, so that could make a huge difference...
I'd Stay away from fruits with a lot of acidity. I?d also watch out for fruits with skin.
Watermelon is probably one of the safest fruits to eat after surgery. Unsweetened apple sauce too!

After surgery I decided not to have fruit until after I got to goal weight. Even tho I missed it. Just recently have added berries to my snacks

I eat fruits when I need to get more calories and carbs and I am trying to maintain or gain weight.
I ate some fruits when I was losing weight - maybe 1/2 servings every few days at most. Mostly berries.
some fruits can be difficult to digest (specially the skin) and even now - if I eat an apple - I peel it. Always.
processed food - like apple butter - is IMO - pure sugar. And it is a slider so it is very easy to overeat.
