Uncomfortable feeling upper left side

Hi there,

I had a Gastric Bypass on 12/6 and have had a fairly easy recovery, but am still feeling uncomfortable near incision site. At my post op appointment the doctor said everything looks really good, but I still visually look swollen (in small area) upper left side and it feels kind of hard, or like a bump. Anyone else experience this? Maybe I'm overdoing it?

Lori....I had surgery in April. Last month I noticed a pretty big lump at the bottom of my breast bone. i called my surgeon and went in and it turned out to be nothing...a cyst...I suggest you call your doctor...maybe you could go in and show him exactly what you're worried about. If he says he just saw you and you're fine tell him you have to go in to ease your mind. Good luc****ep us up to date on your progress. Nance

I had my surgery the day before you. I also had pain on upper left side of my abdomen, but it was mostly gas pain.

I have some pain in one of my incisions too (sounds like the same one). My GP says that it is "tethered", so the skin isn't sliding freely, instead it's caught up on the layers underneath. She said to massage the area with vit E cream to increase the movement and flexibility of the incision. I see my surgeon tomorrow to see what he says.
