Hi low carb lovers! How are you all? Did you have a good weekend? Mine was great, a good mix of some downtime and outdoor time with the dogs and visiting family & friends.

Accountability: Not the best and not the worst. I didn't drink enough liquids this weekend and I had a small slice of apple pie at a friends house, it was yummy and so worth it.

QOTD: Have you ever watched "Shark Tank" or the Canadian version "Dragon's Den?" I love them both and I often forget they are on but I do love to watch them. Have you ever bought a product after seeing it on either Shark Tank or Dragon's Den? Me yes. I tried the "Holy Crap" cereal years ago when it was featured on Dragon's Den. And I have also bought a blanket scarf from "Grace & Lace" which was featured on Shark Tank. Loved both products.

Time since surgery: 4 years + 2 months

Totals: 905 calories, 94 protein, 59 carbs

V: patches are on

E: 60 min step class, 60 min muscle pump

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning! Oh boy, I wish I had another day off. I was so beat yesterday that I didn't leave the house (and barely left the couch). We started binging the Victoria series on PBS. I love it!

QOTD: I have jus****ched a handful of Shark Tanks. I think the products are cool but the judges are such asses that I hate watching. Anyway, yes, I bought one thing--a sink sponge called "Sponge Daddy", which is actually really great :)

Accountability: Added 2 glasses of unplanned wine last night. #noregrets

Hello all you marvelous menu peeps! It's Monday again!

I'm really feeling super stressed about my move, I'm leaning towards Seattle but haven't 100% decided. I had wanted to stick with my fantastic surgery group until I at least passed the one-year mark. It seems from comments I've read here that it's not always easy to have another bariatric surgeon accept you as their patient if you had your surgery done by someone else. There is an Center of Excellence and associated Surgeon of Excellence in the Seattle area, (both distinctions are also held by my surgeon and center). I called them to inquire whether that center would take me on as a patient so that I can get the bloodwork, etc., that I need done. The woman who answered the phone said that I would need to have my records sent up there, and that the docs there would review my case and decide whether or not to accept me. She also said that they usually don't take people like that on unless they haven't seen their original center for a year or more. Since I am still unsettled about my move, I told her I would be back in touch when things were more underway.

QOTD: I honestly can't think of anything I've ever bought that I knew had been on Shark Tank

First: Tea with cashew milk. Vanilla protein drink.

B: Turkey w/ a very small amount of broccoli

L: Filet Mignon, portobello mushrooms. I absolutely love these mushrooms!

D: lunch menu, one more time!

Look for something beautiful today while out in the world, and you will find it!

Moving, especially a big move can be so stressful. Seattle has alwYs been one of those places I would like to visit...maybe someday.

Your move does sound stressful. I hope that you can get things figured out and have peace about it all.

I'm sorry there is so much stress in your life. It never would have occurred to me that finding a new Bariatric surgeon to follow you Post-op would be an issue as well. Seattle is a great area of the country if you decide on it (as long as you don't mind a lot of rainy days).

some people switch to a regular PCP after their first year or so. They just have to know what bloodwork to do. Is that an option? I may have to do that myself. I just changed insurance policies, and I"m waiting to hear whether or not they'll let me continue to see my bariatric surgeon. If not, my new PCP said she'd be glad to do it.

Yes, that would be an option, though I like the idea of having access to a bariatric specialist should I need extra specialized help somewhere down the road. I kept my identical policy, though it costs more this year. But since I am in CaliforniaCovered (our Obamacare, which as a self-employed person I've loved), I'd have to switch it I do indeed move to Seattle - I had to pay out of pocket for all of my medical expenses so long prior to Obamacare that I didn't even think about having to stay in network when I called that center in Seattle! I really do wish there was a countrywide system for everyone. This October I'll hit Medicare age, so will have to figure that out too!

I only moved a couple of hours away (the month after my surgery) so I continued with my original surgeon for the first six months. Now I'm in the process of transferring care to my local team. So far it's going well, they needed my medical records but the fact that I am no longer living near my old surgeon seems to be the key factor. They don't want to take a patient that is "doctor shopping" but they seem happy to step in for a patient that has relocated.

Good luck!
