Syntrax experiments, a question.

I ordered 15 flavors of Syntrax and made three packs in one night, I was so excited and got carried away. Here's the scoop

  1. I put Wild Cherry packet, a cup of plain greek yogurt and 2 equal in my Magic Bullet. Blended it. Put in a glass with ice cubes (I didn't want a slushy) and followed someones suggestion to let it sit, stirring occasionally, to let the bubbles/foam die down. It's been about 15 minutes, foam is not dying down. But it is DELICIOUS! .... Question, does foam ever go down?
  2. I put Strawberry Mousse in the Magic Bullet with a cup of plain greek yogurt and 2 equal, blended it. Put in fridge for tomorrow morning. Will the time affect the protein? Haven't tried it yet.

3. I put 16 oz Crystal Light Iced Tea and a packet of Iced Tea pp and 2 equal into my protein bottle, with the wire ball doohickie. Shook like I never shook before. It was awesome!!! Didn't taste ANY pp or whey!!!!!

I'm having a ball doing this, am I doing it right?

Again, does the heat in the hot coffee affect the protein?

Love you guys, Kinne

Googled and found this, what is YOUR experience?

Can you heat whey protein powder? The Scoop. Heating whey protein may change the protein through the denaturing process, but this will not make it less nutritious or decrease its benefits to your health. Use protein powder to increase protein content of hot cereals, such as oatmeal.

Overnight is okay with mixing protein ahead but much longer than that sort of degrades the consistency. I think every new post op has made a huge bowl of protein pudding, only to find that on day 2, it's all runny and gross. It's best to mix protein powders when you need it.

I mix Mocha flavored protein powder with my coffee every morning. As Pammie said, mix the powder with room temp water first ****il the consistency of brownie batter), then add the ho****er or coffee and stir well.

As far as adding protein powders to hot foods...

Mix the powder with a small amount of water and add it slowly... otherwise it tends to be lumpy and gross...

I believe 130* F is the point at which protein powders will cuddle and become lumpy. So avoid adding it directly to hot liquids.

Be careful of adding things to shakes. A shake by itself has all the nutrition you need. Adding things to it will change the taste, but it also adds extra calories than you need, or want. It's a slippery slope, and has slowed down many people's weightloss.

There are a million different flavored protein powders out there. Find one you like by itself.
