In an effort to make ObesityHelp better for all of our members, we want to remind everyone about our Terms of Services. Recent postings were counterproductive to our mission to provide a supportive environment for all. There have been unfortunate incidents of personal attacks. Personal attacks are construed as name-calling, being hateful, threatening, harassing or attacking a member personally rather than challenging a member's views or position in an appropriate and respectful way. Keep comments on the subject, not the person.

It is the purpose of ObesityHelp that you have the opportunity to obtain support and education along with the exchange of information in our community. At ObesityHelp, you have a place where your voice can be heard but it will be shared among many voices and opinions of other members. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to post within our Terms of Service.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation and being a member of our community.

I often wonder if for every person who is helped with the tough love given so freely here, if there aren't several who could have used our help that are driven away from the boards because they're so turned off by the non-compromising, non-compassionate responses to those who post what are often simply ignorant questions or suggestions.

It seems like we could still be firm and resolute without unleashing our "tough love" wrath which is often insulting and derogatory.

*Shrugs and points out that transfer addictions are a real danger, so a vodka shot in a protein drink and a 3.5 ounce pour on a regular basis aren't the best choices*

Some of us have watched how transfer addictions destroy lives. Some of us have friends that have lost their careers, marriages, and their children refuse to talk to them. Some of us have watched our friends die because they can't stop drinking. Some of us see the red flags and try to warn people.

And...some of us use inflammatory rhetoric in a post reminding us to play nice.

Enjoy your 3.5 pour!

Amen, Rocky. I recently attended a memorial, of a very close friend, who was post several years RNY...

An occasional glass of wine wasn't going to hurt her either...

She is now forever dead...

Transfer addiction is REAL, people

Please be as tough as you have to be, with the people you care about

Thanks Gina. I know I like a glass of wine too but feel the pull def more then I did prior to WLS. I cut it out completely. Now curbing my shopping! No joke can be just as bad! Back to no debt and need to stay that way out of stores and online!

I am so sorry for your loss... very pretty and too young to die.
