Hi all! I'm one week post op, and am feeling really great. Most of my pain is gone, and I am able to walk as much as I like. Also, I can drink water really well...I'm up to about 80 0z per day. The thing is...I am hungry! I'm supposed to start "soft food" in 6 days, but i'm wanting to start early. Is that a bad idea? I am just going a bit nuts with just liquids. Thanks! Oh...and I've lost 20lbs since my surgery day (1/31)

Congratulations on your first week. What does your plan say about starting soft food? Every plan is different but stick to what your doctor gave you!

Hi, congrats on a successful surgery! I'm so glad you're doing well and not in pain anymore.

If your plan says to wait, then wait. You can do some real damage inside if you eat off plan this early out. The hunger you feel may be head hunger. You can do this.

+1 for it being head hunger. There's no way you're actually hungry. Bored with liquids? Absolutely normal but this process is also very much a mental challenge. Good luck!

Try chewing on SF popsicles. They really helped me when I was craving something to chew. Remember they also count toward your fluid intake.

Glad that you are doing well.
