I am over 2 yrs post op and still can't gain any lbs! Funny I should say that huh? It's really my fault. I'm a picky eater and can't stand those protein shakes! At this point I hate my body and wish I'd never had my surgery. I've also decided that this is something that I have to do to help myself. I've been hoping to find Protein pills and finally found some on Amazon. They're chewable so let's see what they taste like. Any Suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated! Stay tuned ?

Thanks for listening!

Huh, I never heard of protein pills before. I looked at Amazon and only saw Nature's Best Protein Pills listed. It says serving size is six pills, and one serving has three grams of protein. Too little protein...better to have three ounces of beef or chicken for a bigger protein boost. I'd say the majority of us don't enjoy the protein shakes...but we force them down. You might check out Eggface's site, she as a lot of recipes for protein shakes and protein ice cream.

Could you give us a bit more info?

Looks like you had a revision as you list 2008 as your surgery date, but say your over two years post op?

Why are you trying to gain weight? Medical issues? Highest weight/goal weight/current weight?

What's your typical menu? What numbers are you shooting for re calories/carbs.

Really need more info for us to give more helpful responses. OH is a great source of help and support.

There is a lot of food that you can get with protein in it have you tried Greek yogurt? Not all Greek yogurt taste bad you can get a lot of protein like 12 to 13 in one serving. Also they have many different types of protein shakes out there that you can try I like the Atkins also get breakfast Essentials there is chocolate strawberry and vanilla and you just mix it with milk they taste pretty good after my surgery in 2014 they gave me the low sugar vanilla and it tasted awesome. My suggestion is look up foods with high protein and see if there's anything that you like on there.

Might I suggest food?

You say 2 years, but your surgery date says 11+ years. You joined yesterday and this is your first post.

Even if you hate shakes there are way better ways to get protein than pills. Protein Bars are basically candy bars with protein. If you want to gain weight, I am sure you remember from back in the day, right? :) Add some carbs.

Protein pills are without a doubt the worst possible way to get extra protein. Have a piece of meat.

Gaining weight is about calories, not protein. The only things I've ever eaten in pill size that had extra calories all had "M&M" written on them. Lots of nice colors too.

I purchase plain (unflavored) whey isolate protein powder and mix it into foods I like. I've mixed it into canned beef stew, spaghetti/pasta dishes, tea, soups, salad dressing (ranch works great), oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese, the list goes on...
