Hi everyone? How are you all? I had a wonderful four day weekend! I need to do that more often. I am sure most of you on the East Coast and my fellow Canadians can appreciate that the weather here is just wonky. Its supposed to get to a high of 16C (61F) and pour rain today. What I hate about this time of year is how grey and muddy and flooded things are, plus I can't get my hikes in with my dogs which bums me out.

Accountability: I did really good all weekend. We were quite busy and I was protein forward the whole time. We went out for an amazing steak dinner on Sunday evening and hubby and I split a creme brulee for dessert and it was worth every calorie!

QOTD: When you are not working how do you like to spend your free time? If you are retired how to you keep yourself busy? My fav things to do in my downtime are hang with my hubby & dogs going on hikes, go to the gym, go for a run, reading books or watching Netflix.

Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 3 mos

B: decaf coffee with vanilla PP used a creamer. 2oz of harvarti cheese & BTC energy bar

L: can of tuna with balsamic dressing & tbsp bran buds

S: small banana before the gym

D: 2 egg white patties with shredded cheese on top

S: 1 cup of strawberries with 1 tsp of Splenda

TOTALS: 1053 calories, 123 protein, 67 carbs

V: Patches are on (Iron, Multi, B12, VitD & Calcium) + extra oral D3 & B12

E: 60 min step class then 60 min muscle pump

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning menu folks! The weather here is wonky too! We had snow and ice over the weekend and today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the low 70s. Too wierd!

I am still mending and moving and my eating is a little erratic because my appetite is off. I am making sure to get in lots of fluids and an extra protein shake for plenty of protein.

QOTD: I do alot of swimming and water classes and enjoy hiking and walking when the weather is good. I also enjoy reading, doing crossword puzzles, knitting and interacting with our 5 cats.

Menu:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 bites of leftover meatloaf, 2 prunes

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, apple, almonds

Lunch: probably beef stew, baby carrots

Snack: 3 oz turkey breast, cantaloupe

Dinner: not sure, but lots of protein

Extras: another protein shake or bar

Exercise: only short walks for a while

Glad you are healing! Keep up the good work with the protein and before you know it you'll be good to go!

Good morning--yep we have the same weather pattern as you! It's going to be 60 degrees today and 70 degrees tomorrow. WHAT!?

I had a nice 3 day weekend. It was suuuuuper chill. Saw a movie, did some shopping, saw a friend, bought a new couch... Nothing crazy, but all good. Which leads me to my QOTD. I like to have a balance between going on weekend "adventures" where I explore new towns, and having really quiet weekends to rest and recharge at home. We haven't had an adventure in awhile--it's time! I hope that when I retire, I will set myself up in a routine to make art every day.

This week is school vacation-- no kids or teachers in the building, so I have a really easy week. I am going to be all alone in a closed school. I'm going to be lonely, but just try to put my head down and really focus on getting some big projects done.

Accountability: Well, good news is that the Valentine's Day candy is gone... And I think I broke my baby toe, so I skipped running for a few days, but I will do 2 miles today.

Good morning. I know I'm only a few days out and the pain is easing each day but I was so frustrated last night that I cried. I have never been comfortable sleeping on my back, and I still can't sleep on my side comfortably so my sleep is only in patches. I sleep better in the chair, but my butt aches. I even made DH go find me a donut pillow to take the pressure off my tailbone and it helped some. But I still find myself waking every couple of hours, getting up and walking around until I feel better, then back to the chair. I know the walking is good but I'm cranky from the disjointed sleeping schedule. I'm really hoping I'll be healed up sooner rather than later.

its freezing rain here so I haven't been going outside for walks, and DH is working from home. But I'm wearing tracks through the house from pacing.

qotd: I'm a bookworm, so there's always something to read. I like to write also (hence my username). In the spring and summer there is the garden and I often go poking around in there just to be outside. There's always weeds to pull, even though I hate weeding and am always contriving to find ways to eliminate weeds by mulching or whatever other method I read about.

menu: liquids. Still struggling to get it all in, though I'm not as dehydrated as I was the first day. I'm getting to about 50 oz. I keep dozing off during the day and hard to catch back up with water. I'm hoping that when I can get a full nights sleep, I can also get a full days hydration.

I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable! it will be better soon. Have you tried sleeping only partially on your side by using the back of the couch or extra pillows to prop you?

I have tried that and it works ok, but I can't quite yet get myself up from the couch, so it makes me feel kind of helpless if Jeremy is asleep and I need to get up.

The first week is definitely the worst - it will be better each day.

Yeah, I'm in a recliner. I think my problem is that I've never been the type to sit for long--not a big TV watcher. So after about an hour of sitting, I need to get up and pace around. I know I'm getting better, I'm just being impatient with my own body ;)
