Today I celebrated my first year anniversary from my surgery. This has been an amazing, life changing, fantastic adventure! To mark the occasion on Saturday I ran my first half marathon (13.1 miles)! Which was something I could have never accomplished pre- surgery. I started running 3 months post op with the couch25k app in 30 second intervals and felt like I was dying but as the weight came off it got easier and I was slowly able to build up my endurance. I am an avid runner these days and the weight loss and running accomplishments have improved my confidence and happiness as well as my health. To all of you just starting this journey Remember that you get what you put in, and there will be many shed blood, sweat and tears. 293lbs to 150lbs today! Woohoo!
What an amazing way to celebrate!!
