Hi everyone, how's it going? My MIL went into the hospital last night. She has Crohn's & severe Colitis. I will leave work early today after a few mtgs and go to the hospital and see what's going on and next steps. I adore my MIL so I am upset she is in pain, my SIL is with her now.

Accountability: stayed 100% on plan. I had another small pouch day and was so busy at work I skipped lunch and changed up dinner and had chili and just one yogurt before bed, no popcorn.

QOTD: What is your most used method of cooking. Meaning do you use your oven the most? BBQ? InstaPot? Slow Cooker? Microwave? My most favourtie way to cook is my BBQ. But with our Canadian Winters I don't use it as its in the backyard all Winter. So when its too cold to BBQ I use a combo of roasting chicken in the oven, pan frying pork chops, steamed veggies, that kind of thing. But if I could BBQ 24/7/365 I would. BBQ is life in our house.

Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 5 mos

B: lots & lots of decaf + vanilla PP used as creamer

L: 1 cup of cucumber slices + 2 tbsp of Philly Cream cheese herb & garlic

S: Cup of chicken flavoured bone broth

D: 3 slices of turkey breast + swiss cheese + mustard (meat roll ups!)

S: Activia yogurt

TOTALS: 834 calories, 115 protein, 35 carbs

V: PatchMD patches are on + extra oral Dry D3 and extra oral B12

E: none - still not cleared yet for exercise

Have a happy day all!

Photo Friday idea: Post a pic of something in your house that is really old. Could be something given to you by a Grandparent/Parent, could be an antique you bought, could be something you found on a hike. Get creative!

so sorry to hear- speedy recovery wishes Daisy!

QOTD: I use instant pot a good deal, regular pan for protein pancakes/veggies. Oven for some baking. it really depends on how much I need to make and how it should be prepared. sometimes I will use my toaster oven instead of regular oven to save energy. quick heat i generally use micro.

Food yesterday was great. no whipped cream still. stepped on scale and weight is up despite watching very closely the past week so I'm a bit frustrated. the lifting weights must be kicking me in the butt and adding pounds. im going to increase water intake and see how that works. I feel really good though other than that darn number on the scale. pouting....

went to home depot after workout last night and bough cow manure, compost, red cabbage, strawberry, parsely, peppermint- getting garden started finally!

Food for today

coffee

water

water

leftover pork/last bit

spinach/zuchinni

not sure on dinner yet.

Couldn't sleep past 4:30 so I just got up and started working- the good thing is that i didn't eat crap I shouln't have and have had water and coffee already.

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL, I hope all will be well.

Got a bit more gardening done--filled my 5 gallon buckets for eggplant and bunching onions, my big flower barrel in the front, and a long, shallow pot I'll use for spinach. Planted some new lily bulbs I've had in the freezer, I hope they sprout this year. Things are mostly ready to be put in the ground, I just need it to warm up a bit! Freezing rain forecasted today.

Qotd: in the summer I use the bbq grill 90% of the time. Our house is so small that cooking really heats it up in the summer so I prefer to do the cooking outside. The rest of the year I'd say it's a tie between the crock pot, oven, and stovetop. I do a lot of "skillet meals" where I adapt our favorite carb dishes into low-carb skillet varieties. Lasagna for example, I'll cook the meat in a skillet with marinara sauce, ricotta, and whatever veggies I may add, and top with mozzarella.

Breakfast: LonoLife protein coffee, followed by decaf, all with Premier

lunch: meat rolls for me too, except I'm having Budding corned beef (2 oz) and Swiss (one slice) with mustard

dinner: 3 oz marinated chicken breast, maybe 1/4 C green beans

elliptical after work, 30 mins, and Stopping at my cousins house after work to tend my seedlings. I had 100% germination so I'm going to try to separate seedlings instead of thinning them out

Good morning! We leave for home in a few hours. By 9:30 tonight Justice will be introduced to his new home.

QOTD: Probably microwave as number one because I do my breakfast in it and reheat a lot of stuff. For primary cooking it would be a toss-up between the stove and grill.

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Protein bar

D: something protein based at a restaurant on our way from Boston to home tonight.

S: mozzarella/prosciutto sticks
