Hello everyone

My surgery date is June 13th. What can I expect for weight loss?

Hi,

That is a difficult question. Depends on many things and why you are converting. I am lapband to sleeve to RNY. Revisions are slower weight loss but I have lost 69 pounds and 10 pounds below goal. Total 185 pounds from highest weight.

For the first 18 months, you will have an extra boost because malabsorption will keep calories from being absorbed. Take advantage of that time to lose all of your excess weight and twenty or thirty extra pounds to allow for bounceback regain after the malabsorption ends.

Your weight loss will depend on how well you track and manage your food after surgery.

I'm sorry, but that's a little like asking us what the weather will be like on your birthday. We have zero information!

Give us some details, and we can offer a little help.

You have been asking about this for the past few years, but have not shared any information about why you need it.

If you have regained because you have not followed your plan, I do not think the RNY will help you in the long run. There is no magic surgery. It eventually comes down to calories.

If you are revising due to GERD, hopefully it will alleviate your problems.
