Morning from the Farm!

They were calling for rain, and we did get some. But I was still able to get my apple trees planted!

Today is all about the hop yard! We picked up new rhyzomes yesterday, and today hope to get them into the ground!

Also spending time with my nephew. He's One now, and the rate at which he's learning and growing is shocking! It's something new every day!

whats everyone else have planned? This is a holiday weekend in Canada, so we have a whole other day off too!

qotd: Let's talk TVs and cable. I noticed with the wedding question from yesterday, there's a lot different ways people watch tv/movies now.

do you have cable? Satellite? Streaming services? Rent dvds?

We cut the cord a few years ago. We have a digital antenna to pick up a few local channels. That's how I watched the wedding yesterday. On CBC. Same for things like hockey etc. but everything else, we stream online.

A coworker brought a dvd in of a movie she wanted me to watch and it took me a second to remember if I had anything that would play it! I do. A PlayStation 2. Crazy how fast technology is moving!

menu:

i see bacon in the fridge, so I'm guess that's for breakfast. And ground beef out, so I'm guessing burgers. I usually take a lead in meals on weekends like this, but I want to spend as much time in the garden as possible, so I'll just do what I'm told to help prep, and eat the meats!

Good morning from the farm sounds so pleasant even though it sounds like you've been working hard.

QOTD Owe have satellite tv, but DH uses the ETC string to watch movies and our Amazon prime to watch movies. I might stream once in a blue moon.

Yesterday's totals were- cal 450, prot 73, carbs 28, fat 6. I added some non fat greek yogurt with no apparent issues so adding somemore for today. The sweetness of the protein shakes is wearing on me.

B hot tea, 1/2 premier shake

L beef broth and 1/2 container non fat plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 premier shake

D beef broth and 1/2 container non fat greek yogurt , 1/2 premier shake

Snacks Crystal light, 1/2 premier shake, sugar free popscicles.

Good morning weekenders from my recliner. I got home about noon yesterday and have finally gotten some sleep. I'm mostly drinking, sleeping and walking laps around the house. The doctor was very pleased with the results of the surgery but for now I am wrapped in ace bandages and a surgery bra so I can't see anything. I am taking my oxy and valium regularly and am relatively comfortable except for getting in and out of the chair.

Yesterday I had lots of fluids, including protein shakes, some scrambled eggs for breakfast, and Turkey breast for dinner. I have an appetite but can't eat much at one time.

More naps and crossword puzzles on tap for today.

Still in rain mode here. Going to the gym in a few minutes.

Found a pair of over-the-ear Bluetooth headphones on clearance at Target. Excited to listen to music while working out. Can't do earbuds.

QOTD: Netflix and Prime. I have a cabinet full of dvds and I'm like what should I do with these?

Dinner: burger tbd (turkey Mahi or beef) asparagus

Good morning. I envy those of you with gardening talents! It is a big task for me to get my flowers for my planters. This year I really want to do tomatoes but there is a lot of prep work coming up (probably this week), which I'm not looking forward to.

But I can defer for a couple of days as it is rainy today and tomorrow I take DH to his neurologist appointment in Boston which takes essentially all day. Today I will probably vegetate some, walk the dog, then go to my in-person support meeting late this afternoon.

QOTD: We have cable. I record a lot of shows on the DVR, but they actually go on the cloud. So I can watch them on my iPad if I want. I stream a lot of shows from Netflix and Amazon to my TV or my iPad depending on where I am watching.

2 Years, 1.5 months post-op

Always lots of coffee...

Doing well - thanks for asking! Justice had the zoomies last night (rainy day) and was running around like a wild man attempting to hold 2 stuffed animals in his mouth (though only one would fit)!

Mornin'!

We're heading for Chicago later on this morning. We'll spend the night in the 'burbs and then head into the city in the morning for my third plastic surgery consult. I'm sort of ready to go now - it's rainy and dreary and I'm just lying around doing nothing, really...

QOTD: I've never had cable or satellite (other than an apt or two many years ago that included it - but that's been 25 years). We almost never watch TV, so it really isn't worth it. Even when we're at a hotel that has cable, we're either reading or on our laptops. We did have NetFlix for about three years, but I dropped it because we weren't using it enough to justify the cost, even though it's cheap. So I jus****ch things - like the royal wedding - on my computer.

accountability lately has been OK but not great, but I'm managing to stay in the 140s, so that's fine by me!

2 years 11 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake

(I'd better take along a couple of protein bars just in case!)
