Just a quick question!

These were my levels on my iron 8 months ago. I go back on Monday to have my bloodwork redone. I have been feeling pretty tired and lethargic. My B12 was like 2000 last time so I am good there but have concerns about my iron. My protein always runs low so don't know if this is a factor. I just do not absorb protein well even though I eat between 80 - 100 grams a day. I also drink my body weight in water so good there also. Can anyone take a peek at my iron and let me know if it was ok last time. The dr. seemed happy with it.

The most important iron number for us is ferritin. Have you had that checked?

Your B12 could have plummeted in the past 8 months. It can go up, and down, pretty quickly.

How is your D?

My D was at 49.1 I do take my calcium 2x a day 1260 calcium elemental plus 1000 extra D and my D3 supplement 1X a day D3 is 1000 dry by nature made and the calcium is citracal. But ferritin is not listed on my blood work. I see transferin 263 and folate folic acid serum at 20

btw - a few of us do malabsorb protein. I do. I have to get at least 100 grams a day, or my prealbumin level tanks. I get 100-150 grams.

They are always after me to eat more protein. I strive for 100 grams a day. Sometimes a little less or more but that is my target. I am height restricted so also need to keep my calories pretty low to maintain. Hard to do and also keep those protein numbers up.Thank you so much for responding. I am sorry that you struggle with it but happy to know I am not the only one.

Do you work out a lot, also??

I have always struggled with my protein levels no matter how much I ate...I aimed for 100g a day while losing and eat even more now. I don't have an answer.

not really. I go through phases. I aim to do Aqua Zumba twice a week and yoga 2-3 times a week, but there are weeks when I only get to Aqua Zumba once - or not at all. I do other things - like Pilates or stationary bike - sporadically. I know I need to work out more. Maybe once I retire in a couple of weeks..

My dr. thought it was because I worked out so much but if others have it that do not then I might not be the one causing it.
