Topic: RE: 11 DPO won't see surgeon until 18 DPO liquid diet?

I froze some crystal light and made a slushy to get the chewing feeling those last few days. You can do this.

Topic: RE: OT Dog LOVES protein supplements! smh

there was just a link in facebook that xylitol in some sugar free gum can cause dogs to have dangerously low blood sugar. which can be fatal.  my dog is diabetic so I look at things like this. hopefully all of the other food she ate will keep that from happening but if possible, I would have her around someone today

Martita: I haven't been logging in over here too much but I am so so sorry to read of your sister's passing. I know your faith and your family will help you through this sad too soon loss. Judi

Topic: RE: I HAVE CHIP ON MY SHOULDER - 6 YEARS POST-OP TODAY FINALLY!!! ...Snippets of my Journey post WLS

congratulations! The puppies are adorable! I have 2 toy poodles myself! :)

Topic: RE: OT - audio books

years ago I think I read all of his books. I should revisit them. I read books over and over. I wore out 2 paperback copies of Shogun! lol

Ill have to try some of your list! :)

Topic: RE: OT - audio books

I loved Watership Down back in the day. Is it on audio?

Topic: RE: OT - audio books

I love her books! how cool you got to meet her. I listened to most of her other series too. There was just one that didn't thrill me can't remember which. Loved the one where the woman finds dead bodies

Topic: RE: OT - audio books

John Sandford's books are good on audio, Virgil Flowers is growing on me.

I liked The Devil Wears Prada on Audio and after I got used to the sucky narrator I liked all the Hunger Games books on Audio

The early Nelson DeMille are good on audio but his latest, The Panther (I think) sucked. Audible gave me my credit back because I gave it a crappy review

murder mysteries are the best to me on audio. I like JD Robb but they are a formula and futuristic so not for everyone

And the Sookie Stackhouse books are great on audio if you like vampires!

Topic: RE: Versed

It wasn't enough for my husband. he was super anxious also and when he woke up in recovery he was freaking out and they had to give a "horse pill" to knock him out.

See if you can request more than that. I wish we had for him

Topic: RE: Need opinions: Do I really need to buy the CPAP machine if I'm going to have surgery?

I had one and they made me bring it to the hospital, and in the hospital I just used the oxygen tubes they had taped under my nose.  I hope your surgeon listens to reason. I don't need one at all now

Topic: RE: FINALLY I GOT A DATE!!!!

congratulations! I know this has been a long time coming!

Topic: RE: Nicotine test

my doctor said to see if we could hold our breath for 60 seconds. Just a home test about lung function as that is the biggy for surgery. I know other people have blown up balloons to try and improve their lungs preop. give it a try and good luck

Topic: RE: OT Daughter update

congratulations on your daughter being an ASL quick learner and I hope the implants can also enrich her life. As long as your kid is as happy as she can be, what anyone else thinks is irrelevant.

Topic: RE: The dreaded seat belt extender...

I thought I had seen an article about this. I guess the FAA says no more personal extenders. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/lifestyle/2012/08/no-more-person al-seat-belt-extenders-says-faa/

sorry she made you feel bad. You won't need one soon!

Topic: RE: Colonoscopy Question

I think mine had me add powerade but it couldn't be red

Topic: RE: second hand smoke

I remember my doctor saying that that happened once. They got a positive on someone from second hand smoke. just be up front if it comes back positive. Hopefully this won't delay you!

Topic: RE: OT: This is going to be hard.

I'm glad you are spending some time with your girls. I think that is the healthiest thing you can do.  We only get one mom and it sucks to no longer have her but your girls have you and that is a blessing. hugs

Topic: RE: Preparing for RNY on short notice?
lol at deboobing the baby! good luck!!
Topic: RE: motivation fast!!!
I was part of a post weight loss study for awhile and the nurse told me the 2 year point was common to see some regain and the 3 year point most people had kicked it back off.

You may want to increase your activity and really focus on when and what you are eating.

My husband & I just started this thing where we get 30 g of protein in within 30 minutes of waking up. For me it has to be a protein shake, I can't eat that early.  It is amazing how I am not very hungry all morning

hang in there!
Topic: RE: motivation fast!!!
Are you eating more simple carbs? Are you drinking with yourmeals? Have you tracked your food for awhile. Been there done that, it is common. People who haven't had surgery have to watch what they eat or they can gain weight.

You can do this.

When did you last have your labs done though? I wonder if your protein is really low if you are having hair issues.

Or iron. Or something else.

Topic: RE: Warning: Your food label could be lying to you!
Everything is a Seinfeld episode! remember when they had one where they were gaining weight eating low cal yogurt? I'm sorry, I know this is a bummer. I just had to chime in worthless trivia
Topic: RE: When 30 min isn't enough
for me it depends on how dense the protein was that I ate. I can feel when it "goes down" and then I know it is safe to drink without getting sick. Sometimes if it is taking forever I'll try hot tea. that tends to either help it go down or make it come up
Topic: RE: My vitamin D level is a 7
If your D is low your calcium may be low too. Try to get copies of your labs and look at that. Are you supplementing your calcium? I've heard lots of people say the B12 shots gave them an energy boost. I've never had one. But low B12 can cause problems so I'm glad you and your doctor are on top of things!
Topic: RE: Married.. Cruise.. Weight Gain.. ?? (pics)
your entire family is gorgeous, congratulations!!

I'm with everyone else, lay off the booze and the 3 pounds will come off.

To me, the real benefit of the pouch test is if someone is going nuts eating too many simple carbs to help them get off of them. It doesn't sound like you are doing that so if I were you I'd just focus on protein, lots of water and not sweat it.
