I donated at least 50 large leaf and lawn bags full of great clothes and used the donations as a tax write off. Don't know if this will be a tax option next year. I had size 18 to 24 in my closet so was good going down in size till I hit below the 18 and then started buying a few items off sale racks to get me by. I made the mistake when I reached size 14 thinking I was at goal and bought some clothes that are now packed away in case I gain wt. I see people post that once they hit the bottom wt that there is often a bounce back wt of 15 to 20 pounds so I am ready for that should it happen. I've been in size 10/12 for several months so have a new closet full of clothes. Again, I've watched sales and sale racks for most of the new things. I've even purchased some nice things on EBAY. I've never shopped at Goodwill but know several that have found good buys. I did check out some resale shops but I personally felt the clothes were over priced. I did better hitting sales in department stores. One of my friends has time to hit garage sales and she has found some nice reasonably priced items. Although not an option here, some towns have wt loss support groups that have a clothes closet exchange. I don't sew but got quotes on what it would cost to alter the more expensive clothes and decided it wasn't worth it for myself. Enjoy your journey!
