HOLY MOLY!!! You look great!

Topic: RE: SOMEONE, ANYONE, EVERYONE PLEASE HELP ME!!
Did your surgeon prescribe phenergan (promethazine) or Zofran for nausea?  If so, take it!  Are you drinking anything that may make you dump?  Milk, sugar, carbs?  May be causing the diarrhea?  I would also crush 650 mg of tylenol every 6 hours for the fever until you can get to the Dr.

Topic: RE: Ok so whats up?
It doesn't sound like too much to me.  I had my surgery on Nov. 5.  I usually eat 5 or 6 times a day, no more than 4 oz at a time.  The last couple of weeks my weight loss has slowed down to a 1b or 2 per week.  Of course, I haven't been exercising either... Shame on me!!!

I'm not sure what to tell you about the hunger.  I get head hunger, but not really REAL hunger that often.  Are you REALLY getting hungry, or just wanting to eat?  Sometimes I just want to eat, I'm not REALLY hungry.  It's a PITA!

Topic: RE: Help!!! I've got food stuck!!!
Yeah!!! No doubt.  NO  MORE  CHICKEN  FOR  THIS  CHICK  for a looooong time.  Lesson well learned.  It finally went away after about an hour of agony.

Topic: RE: How do you know if something's stuck?
Oh wow, you will know when it happens.  I had my 1st experience last night.  I was MISERABLE for about an hour.  It felt like gravel tumbling around in my chest and esophagus.  I was hanging over the toilet spitting out thick mucus, praying to throw up, and I hate to throw up.  My poor little pouchy is sore this morning.  NO MORE CHICKEN FOR ME!!!

Topic: RE: Help!!! I've got food stuck!!!
I just got home from work about an hour ago and stupidly scarfed down a little chicken chinese food.  I have food stuck!!! It hurts sooo bad!!!  I'm spitting up mucus. and burping alot.  Should I try to throw up???  What should I do?  I chewed some papaya enzyme about 15 min ago, it helped a little but not much!  I"M SO STUPID!!!!

Topic: RE: When did your steri strips come off?
Mine stayed on for a good 2 weeks even though I scrubbed the fire out of them when I showered, hoping they would roll off.  I finally peeled them off one day after a warm shower.  They got all nasty looking, and frayed on the edges.  I got the leftover sticky off of my belly with alcohol pads.

Topic: RE: Head Hunger???
Head hunger is a cold hearted ***** seriously.  I struggled with it at first too.  It does get better.  Right now your eyes are truly bigger than your stomach.

Topic: RE: OT! _What's your job people?!
I'm a nurse (LPN) in a nursing home, and am still in school for RN.

I've been working ALOT lately and haven't been on here in a while.

Topic: RE: YET ANOTHER POOP QUESTION -- SORRY!
I had the same bowel prep you are having.  Mine took about an hour to work, and I was pooing WATER  ALL DAY, and half the night.  I couldn't even venture to guess how many trips I made.  TAKE IT EARLY, AND FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING GOOD, do not, I repeat, do not plan anything outside the house that day.

Topic: RE: Soy nuts
So, I bought a pack of soy nuts.... Their pretty good, but I'm not sure what to do with them other than eat them plain.  What is your fav way to eat soy nuts?

Topic: RE: Any other drinks like ISOPURE" lemon tea" out there?
Unjury makes a strawbery sorbet flavor that is great in orange crystal light.  It's not really clear, but it's not milky either.

Topic: RE: 5th day out and tired
I'm 3 weeks and 3 days post-op, and am still pretty tired.  It gets a little better every day.  I can definately tell a difference when I don't get my fluids and protein in.  I agree with the previous post... focus on your protein and fluids, the tiredness will eventually go away.  Also, take your pain meds for the soreness.  I was on pain meds for 9 days post op.  I stopped them the day after my drainage tube was taken out.

Topic: RE: intermittent chest pain
Oh lordy!!! I'm glad you are ok!

Where are the best places to purchase PB2 and powerpb?

Topic: RE: intermittent chest pain
Chest pains of any sort are by no means anything to play around with.  Call your Dr. ASAP.  It could be anything, could be nothing.  I would rather be safe than sorry.

Curious... How do you use it to break a stall?

Topic: RE: my thoughts are all over the place
I hate the taste and smell of certain proteins.  I have found that Unjury has the least smell/taste than some of the others, in my opinion.  My favorite is Unjury Strawberry Sorbet powder mixed with Orange crystal light.  It is the bomb diggity!  I drink it all the time.

I know what you mean about sharing the RNY thing.  I talk about it on here, with my family, and the people that I work with know.  I live in a VERY small town.  You can't fart without everyone knowing about it around here.  I just don't want to be known as "the girl that got so fat that she had to have surgery to lose weight."  People can be so cruel.  It's not that I'm ashamed of having the surgery either... I just don't want it on the 6 o'clock news.

Topic: RE: Let's talk peanut butter...
I don't really use a lot of peanut butter because the only kind that I am bold enough to try is plain old JIF smooth regular old peanut butter.  I could eat it directly out of the jar with a spoon... If I would allow myself.

I see a lot of posts on here about PB2 and other types of peanut butter that you all use.  Does it taste like regular good ole' peanut butter?  What kind/brand of peanut butter do you use?

I tried a low sugar/fat version from the grocery store, and it was super grainy and pretty nasty, so I've been afraid to try again.

Topic: RE: OMG you guys...I just got finished noshing on...
Mmmm..Mmmm!!!  Sounds so yummy!  I need to make a veggie trip to the grocery store!

Sounds good! How did you roast your brussel sprouts and eggplant?  I have eaten boiled brussel sprouts before, I have never had eggplant.

I hear you sista!!!   I could melt paint off the walls!

Topic: RE: Soft, mushy, pureed...what????
You got it!  Just buy low fat cream soups and mix them with skim milk.  Instead of straining (if you are on full liquids now) I would mix the soup and pop it in my magic bullet for a few seconds to grind up the chunks.  It tastes much better that way.  I liked Cambell's brand, Cream of Everything.  Even the ones they don't make lowfat, I would purchase full fat for a little variety.

I'm not much of a yogurt fan, so I can't help you there.

Topic: RE: Post Op day #4 - Some Advice Please...
I'm a nurse, I suggest that you take your pain meds as prescribed, they won't control your pain as well if you only take them when you need them.  Keep your pain under control, you will heal much faster.  Nip it in the bud before it starts.  Did they prescribe Zofran or Promethazine, or Phenergan for nausea?  If they did, take it when you feel nauseated, it really helps.  If they didn't call them and tell them you need it.  It may make you a little groggy, but groggy is better than nauseated at this point.
