- HEALTH TRACKER
i worked retail and was on my feet all day, full time. i went back after 2 weeks (took an extra day off that week so only worked 4 days instead of 5). i could have went back earlier. i was going stir crazy and a little over a week out started driving and doing little things like walking around the mall or going over a friend's house
from being on the boards for a few years i think that i tend to throw up more than most do, and i throw up about once a month, but i threw up with about the same frequency pre-op.
it hasn't budged since. the weight appeared in the course of maybe a month. that was about 6 months ago. my body just seems happier here. even though i was still considered "overweight" by bmi at my lowest weight my face was very thin and drawn out. i honestly like from my shoulders up better at this weight, and plastics next month will address the issues i have with my lower body, which really didn't change between the weight (i seem to hold all 10 pounds in my boobs lol. they went back up from a d to a ddd, that's the only size that changed).
nothing in my diet/exercise changed when the weight gain happened, though i did hit the dreaded 2 year mark right around then.
i think i had to wait 2 weeks. it was the end of september though so not a big deal for me. i'll be having my TT on june 6th though, right after moving back in with my parents who have a huge pool. it's gonna be torture!
i've gained about 10 and been fairly active here for probably 3 1/2 years. (surgery was september 2010).
you can get it online and some health food stores carry it. i think last time i bought it it was $4 or $5 for a regular peanut butter sized jar (in manhattan)
i'm going through the worst pms hell in a long time right now so i'm totally relating right now. usually i go ahead and get something small like a hershey bar or a small box of cookies, but i'm trying so hard to be good right now. but nothing seems to be working. i tried some hot chocolate, spoonful of peanut butter, and some grape tomatoes. i'll probably cave tomorrow and get a piece of candy or something. just buy something individual sized and not a big box of whatever. that way when it's gone it's gone. you satisfied your craving without overindulging.
i'm a little over 2.5 years post op. i bottomed out around 153 (got a little lower with the stomach flu but that came right back lol). now i'm up around 160. on days when i track i'm under 1500 (usually between 1000-1200). i'm okay with staying here, but don't want to gain any more than this back. i'm hoping with my TT next month i'll get some renewed motivation!
they apparently brought my parents to me in the recovery room once i was "awake" and talked with me and the surgeon. i remember none of this. the first thing i remember is them wheeling me to my room, and my parents were there with me then.
i didn't find that strangers treated me any differently (or at least i didn't notice), but there was a big change in the way that my guy friends treated me, trying to get me to hook up with them now.
i didn't wear underwear until i got home from the hospital, it was just easier. but i wear bikinis (not the string ones) and was fine. like the previous poster, the only one i had issues with is right on my bra line and that got a little irritated
my (former) direct supervisor and manager are two of my best friends so they knew what was going on. i was in retail at the time and all the other managers and supervisors, and really most of my co-workers, in the store knew, except my gm (but that's another story. he's probably the biggest ass i've ever met in my life so it was entertaining for me that everyone knew but him, perhaps immature, but he didn't deserve to know something so personal about me).
edited to add: i also had saved enough vacation/personal time that i only had 2 or 3 days that were unpaid, so it wasn't a big deal.
you look great! i've missed you around here (although i haven't been on as much as i used to either).
i waited probably about 9 months. coke zero is like my crack now (better than the regular coke i drank more calories in a day of than i eat in a day now!). i do like the carbonated waters though too, but usually only drink them in the summer, they're so refreshing! my surgeon only said not to drink them for at least 3 months and then it was as tolerated (i've never had any issues).
