I used to live on soda. I haven't had one since the night before my surgery on Aug 23. The Dr told me about G2. I was never a friend of gatorade but the G2 is low in sugar and calories and comes in some nice flavors plus it replace electrolytes in the body. I have grown to love it.

Hi everyone. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced extreme intestinal gas. I mean extreme. and very foul smelling. I haven't kept track of my intake of food, which I plan to start doing, but has anyone noticed that some foods are worse than others?
Also I take Fusion Bariatric Vitamins and my bowel movements are green and loose. I', wondering if the green color is from the vitamins.

A girl showed me how to you go to OH, then click on surgeries, then click the little wrench by your surgery and set it to primary. It will show under your avatar.

Topic: RE: My surgrey date YEAH!!!
congratulations on your surgery date. I use fusion, but the fusion I use is a bariatric vitamin. Is that what he was talking about?

Hi Emily:
I'm 3 weeks out and I think everyone goes through wanting to give it back at some time or another. I know some things are quite different now and it takes some getting used to. But just after three weeks I'm starting to feel better about myself and I try to stay positive and think ahead at how much better I will feel a few months down the road. Hang in there. you will do fine.

Topic: RE: What to look for.....
I buy Body Fortress Whey Protein

It has per scoop:
140 calories
26g protein
4 g carb
1 g sugar
2g fat

I love the chocolate. I mix it with a glass of skim milk and that gives me another 7 grams of protein.

My pouch holds about 30 ml. That is reduced from 1 1/2 quarts.

I had my surgery on Aug 23. I am down 15 pounds maybe a few more. I'm still struggling with getting enough liquid and protein. It sure is a learning experience.

Topic: RE: One week out!
Hi Robbin:

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago , aug 23, in Auburn , NY. I find the same thing trying to get the protein and all the liquid in. I just keep trying.
I took my steri-strips off once they started to curl and loosen. Just be careful. I actually cut the curly part off and eventually they came off. I go back to see my DR thursday.

Topic: RE: 5 days out
Every day I am getting stronger. My biggest concern is making sure I get my fluids. I find it a little difficult as I sleep a bit, but there are times I can't stay awake. But I'm getting there. Filling up on protein shakes, water, diet snapple, jello and this morning my first "real" food.
4 TBSP of cream of wheat, with sugar free maple syrup. It was good and I tolerated it well. I still have this uncontrollable feeling of thirst. I just want to gulp some water but instead I chew on ice chips. It helps.
I'm still nauseated at times especially when I try to read, or move around too much.

And I'll keep you in mine. My husband is 100% supportive. I hope your boyfriend comes around. It is important to have support.

I'm on day 11 of my pre surgery plan and I have to say I had a few little "treats" but I'm ready to go Tuesday and I am staying very positive about this. I'm excited to start a new chapter of my life.
