Stool softeners (docusate sodium) two times a day, Mag Oxide with my calcium, Miralax 1/2 dose in the morning in my caffeinated black tea, plus fruit and veggies every day. After finding hard balls of stool in my colon during each of my recent 3 bowel obstruction surgeries, my surgeon tells me this will be a lifetime treatment for me. I found that if I stop any part of it, I regret it, so I agree with him.
I was just catching up on some older posts and saw yours. Did your labs include your vitamin K1 levels? Mine didn't. My gums bled like crazy at my cleaning when they never had before. At the dentist's suggestion, I had my K1 checked and found I was very deficient. K1 aids in blood clotting. I have to take it regularly now. Other people on this board have mentioned having the same thing.
Mine were low at my 6 month labs, very high at my 9 months (my PCP ordered an ultrasound to check out my liver, gallbladder, etc), back low at my 12 months. My doctors said all kinds of things can make these levels jump, so you likely don't have to worry, but I would talk to my doctor just to be on the safe side.
Just FYI, my high levels coincided with a bowel obstruction found a few weeks after my ultrasound. I had surgery to correct that, and my levels are now back down.
