THAt's OKAY i decided against the weight loss surgery and it was actually the best decision of my life! I've already lost 2 lbs and counting with a local support group! called "tops" (taking off the pound sensibly! their an amazing group of people who like us have weight issues and what the group is is women and men who follow not so much a "diet" it's the Canadian food guide (fruits,vegetables,meat (or if your a veggie you eat soy or nuts or whatever veggies eat meat replaces) and dairy etc) we also calorie count too (you can have 1800 calories (but this depends on your "weight loss goals"! i joined last month and i love it! maybe we could be pen pals?

thanks for replying!! I have a very small support system lol! myself and my boyfriend of 6 years (well hes working on it.) My sister doesnt really approve because i asked her hypothetically and she was against it, aside from that i have no one else considering i lost my parents years and years ago.

I just have sooo much going on like Im a fulltime student, and im doin the preop workup for the surg and I work part time. Im hoping for a surg date in or around the beginning of June so I can hopefully be healed by the start of school in sept. I am glad i can share with someone in the beginning of their journey. Of course i appreciate the veterans who are years out, i think i feel better connected to someone who is new to the experience like me.

I see your surg date is coming up!! OMG!! are you nervous?? girl i think i would be going crazy!

hello mzjones,  you must be very brave to have surgery through christmas, I live in Sacrmaneto, ca,  - i had my surgery in May 2102, I have lost 105 pounds so far I have aout 60 pounds to go, while my doctor wants my goal weigh at 200 pounds, but i would like to get down to my high school weight of 175.  I go to the gym 5 days a week before work and I just start zuma classes I have always love to dance , I am 55 years old, but i feel like i am in my 20's again.  hope all is well,  if you want to email back my personal email address is  bjjjacoby4@yahoo.com..

Hello Everyone,

I had a gastric bypass 3 years ago and I am very happy with the results. However it would be nice to have a pal to offer support and give support. We are currently stationed in NJ and all of my family is in CA. So I don't really support system here. Anyone who is interested please let me know!
