Did they check your CPAP card prior to surgury?

So, I'm diagnosed With Sleep Apnea with extensive documentation, but my young son who sleeps in our bed freaked out when he saw me in the 3/4 mask a couple times, so I honestly haven't worn it for the past year.

Does anyone know, if you are required to have the co-morbidities because I fall in the BMI 38% range, is the of sleep apnea diagnosis good enough or did the dr & insurance companies want your CPAP Card?

I did not have to submit my cpap card, but I have heard of some people who have had to. I think it depends on your surgeon and on your insurance.  It makes sense that they would NOT require it.  The diagnosis stands, even if you are not using the cure.

Fingers crossed.  I submitted the diagnosis paperwork to the insurance co via surgeon yesterday.  Waiting to hear back...

I honestly think the only reason they use the card is when they pay for your machine and supplies they want to know you are using it.

Yep all went well.  I had to submit my actual sleep study, but the approval was complete in a day once it was submitted!  So excited to go down this path!
