Hi I have to go for a sleep study to make sure I don't have sleep apnea. I do snore (so sayith the hubby), and I wake up a lot in the middle of the night coughing with my throat extremely dry. Are these symptoms of sleep apnea? What are the symptoms? Thanks, Lisa

First of all, are you overweight at all? Secondly, do you feel as if you never slept? As if you only slept a couple of hours. And last, snoring usually indicates a small airway or a lack of oxygen (an apnea) to your lungs. I hope that helped!!

Snoring almost always is an airway obstruction, and from experience I can tell you that when I nap on the sofa away from my CPAP, I always wake up with that sore throat. Do you feel tired during the day even though you've had 7 to 8 hours of sleep?

Having sleep apnea is no fun but once you get your CPAP machine you'll be in heavan. I sleep all night without waking up and before my CPAP machine I could not get up until 9 or 10am and now I'm up at 6am.
