For those of you who have already had their sleeve surgery---how much weight did you lose each week on average?  Mine seems slow going.  What's considered good?  Is a loss of five pounds a week about average?  How fast did yours come off?  Thanks in advance for your help!  Cari

Hi Cari,

It's different for men and women. I've been losing about 6lbs. a week give or take. Have yet to hit my first stall. Hoping the time in the gym will keep it going down. I can't say for sure, but I think my hormones are batteling back and forth as my Testosterone is slowly winning the war over the estrogen ladden fat I keep losing.

Thanks, BigTime13.  I'm going to start working out three days a week with a personal trainer.  Hopefully that will speed up the weight loss!  I guess I'm just impatient...

After big losses the first 2 weeks, I have lost about 3 pounds per week give or take. And it is less than that if I don'****ch what I eat and stick to no more than 1,200 calories per day. I'm ok with 3 a week though. It feels like a healthy rate and I know there is no way I would have kept that up for so long without my sleeve!

I really hope some others answer this question.  I would like to know too.  Surgery on 12/30/10...stalled between weeks 3 through 5.  Total weight loss in the 7 weeks since surgery has been 26 lbs...so about 3 lbs per week??  Everyone says slow and steady is healthiest...and I remind myself it took 30 + years to put on this weight if it takes 3 years to get it off I should be happy.

I lost 22 pounds the first month, so about 5.5 pounds at first.  Now my weight loss has slowed to about two pounds per week give or take.  It really does vary though.  I am a revision from the band, so that can slow the weight loss down.  I know some have lost 30 pounds or more their first month.  The average is 20 pounds the first month, 10 pounds in months 2-5, and then 5 pounds in months 6-12.  What you eat (carbs, calories) as well as how your body operates can all change this.  I feel that as long as I am losing, I am happy.  I try not to compare myself to others.

I have lost 47lbs since surgery. So I'm averaging about 3.9lbs per week. I have also had 2 weeks worth of stalls total.

My dr. says 2 lbs/week. I'm close to that - usually a loss of 3.5 or so one week, then very little the next. BUT - everyone is very different. Do not compare to others. Know that you are doing the right things and go with it. Even if others move much faster than you. Trust yourself and your dr.
