Cold/sinus meds question

I have my first cold/sinus thing since surgery.  Any advice on what can I safely take?  Sinus pressure, stuffiness and post nasal drip and a dry scratchy sore throat.  Bleh!!

I don't know what to take for that other than stuff you buy at the pharmacy - maybe sudafed or whatever that stuff is.

But, I wasn't feeling good last week and bought some nyquil. For ****s and giggles, i entered it into my fitness pal and almost fell over dead when I saw how many calories i consumed from freaking medicine.

ANd then I just let it go - i didn't get fat from large consumptions of nyquil so whatever. At least the cherry flavor tasted good so i don't feel too bad about it (as far as medicine goes anyway)

I've taken just about every cold/sinus/allergy medicine out there without any issue.

If it has Advil(NSAID) in it, just like with any NSAID, I make sure I have something in my stomach before or immediately after taking it.

Mucinex D is my favorite for head/sinus colds especially if it happens to progress into my chest. Dayquil caps being my daytime favorite.

Hope you feel better soon!
