Best Protein Shake Ever!!!

I can't tell you how glad I am to find a good protein shake. I have wasted so many protein powders, fruit etc. experimenting and just trashing them.

I was out of my Isopure Bottles today so I had to get creative and suffer thru a shake but I found the best ever. This will be a daily staple for me for sure. I can't taste the protein and it is amazing.

I mixed the following in my blender - (mix really good - add  ice last)

1 Banana (only one inch of the banana)
1 TBS Crunchy Peanut Butter
2 oz water
8 Ice Cubes
1 Packet UnJury Chocolate Splendor

Serving Size - 1 cup
Calories - 207
Carbs - 11
Fat - 8
Protein - 24

Let me know if you like it. I just had to share since I finally found something I could incorporate into my everyday meals.

I also use the choc Unjury (along with the unflavored and the chicken broth). Since it is sweet and I love PB I usually add a little PB to shake - yum! Also sometimes add 1/4 - 1/2 cup skim plus milk (frozen is even better) for extra protein. Have you tried freezing your bananas? I keep some in the freezer (peeled and in a plastic bag) and it makes the shake creamier (usually only add a small piece like you did). Today I had choc unjury with 1/4 c frozen skim plus milk, water and ice, 1 tsp instant coffee, and 2 T FF hazelnut creamer - was yummy and not sweet.

Oh yummy!!

This is the first time I tried the unjury choc and I can't believe I like it. I have tried the unflavored and chicken soup both and don't like them. What do you mix with them?

I have to try your coffee one, it sounds yummy!! I "heart" coffee!! Also, I will freeze my bananas from now on in little sections. That would be great! Do you freeze your milk too?

I froze some milk in a measuring cup but am going to buy and ice cube tray to freeze the milk. The chicken broth I just mix with water - its OK not great. The unflavored I have been mixing with creamed soups but have to be very careful that the temp is 130 or below so it doesnt coagulate. I usually only add 1/2 scoop but that still adds 10 gm protein. Planning to get some Torani SF syrups that I can add to the coffee/choc shake. Wish I could get my protein in without the powders but cant do that yet and probably not for a while. Couldnt stand the Isopure. The one thing I hate is that I have spent so much money on shakes, vitamins, etc that I dont like or cant tolerate. Spent a fortune of Celebrate chewable vitamins and they make me nauseous and make my stomach spasm. Wish there was a way we could all share the stuff we've bought with others.

I agree with you on the sharing part. I have a ton of single serving unjury packets that I don't like and would gladly trade with someone. I have been wanting to try the santax nectar and I take flinstone vitamins (2) but would be open to try others. I haven't found a vitamin I like yet besides flinstones..haha!!

If you want my chicken soup unjury packets I have like 5. I don't mind dropping them in the mail to you.

Did you try the Isopure powders or the prebottled ones in glass bottles that taste like propel? I drink the grape frost one. I mix it with Ice, Raspberry Crystal Light and 1/2 splenda. It is wonderful and I actually prefer it to water now. It also has 40g protein but they are sky high on price!

you should go to syntrax.com. When you go into the medical site, you will see the sample pack of nectar. You have to call the number to get them and it is $13 for all 13 flavors. I like the fuzzy navel but I mix it with orange flavor crystal lite.

I tried the isopure bottle. Did try adding some Crytal light powder and it was better - i guess  i need to find the right ratio. I probably wont even use all the Unjury I have but thanks. Thinking about bringing extras to a support group when I get to one. I finally resorted to a gummy MVI even though I know they are not good but all I can tolerate (i do also take B12, probiotic, iron, Vit D, Mg, Ca, Vit C). I have a box of Celebrate samples too (I am a registered dietitian so was able to get free samples but not until after I bought a big bottle). Centrum has a good chewable MVI that I used to take so will probably switch back to that.

Thanks for sharing!

I have a question for both of you if you don't mind....I am scheduled for surgery Dec 5th...will my taste buds change after surgery?  I will be on a liquid diet for 1 week pre-op and then 2 weeks post-op, but will still need to add powder to mushies.....is it best to stock up on unflavored now or just buy a few samples to hold me over so to speak?  I see posts where people are not liking what they have purchased and that makes me a little uneasy.....

I appreciate all your feed back!
Paula

My tastes didnt necessarily change post-op, but too much sweet stuff (shakes, SF jello, SF ice pops, Crystal light, etc) really seems to bother me. I bought the tubs but also got a few samples of other flavors. I would get sample packets first before you buy too much. I bought a bunch of Celebrate vitamins that I cant tolerate at all post op - make me nauseous and vomit so I wish I had gotten samples of those instead of big bottles.

Good luck on your surgery!
