How Many VSG'rs Have Had Hair Loss

Just wondering?
I am 5 months out and my hair has thinned quite a bit.  I got a hair cut that hid it and was shown out to make my hair look fuller than it is.  So you can't really tell, but I am constantly picking hair off my clothes.

Not to worry however, it will grow back.  Once your body equalizes.

   AT GOAL!  WOOHOO!!!

Ol my goodness, I just knew for sure I was going to have to wear a wig. I am 8.5 months out of surgery. My hair loss got better at about 7 months out and honey I mean hair loss. Hang in there

I am only 10 weeks out, but am steadily losing.  I have thick hair to begin with, so no one has noticed except for me.  I cut my hair to shoulder length and picking hair off of me all day has become "normal".  I will rock a wig if that's the trade off for a healthier me.  Good luck.

*raises hand*

But i've had a lot of hair loss even before surgery, because of all my medication changes and hormogne levels, and it's still pretty bad.. I'm ridiculously grateful i had really thick hair before all of the hairlost started happening.. i've lost about half of the hair iused to have.. but it's so thick and full that it looks somewhat normal now.. except all the re-growth is now coming and i look like i have a blonde mini afro half the time...

I have pretty long hair.. so i'm debating on cutting it shorter so it can all grow out.. but yeah.

lots of hair loss../:

totally worth it though. lol

Mine was pretty significant but I had SO much hair before that I actually didn't shedding a bit of it.

My surgery was March 1 and by far the worst of the hair loss was in July.
I'm loosing hair.  I'm 5 months out.

I had my hair cut short a couple of months before the surgery. Although I am definitely losing hair (I can see it on my hands and the shower drain trap), I think it would look like much more if I still had long hair. I think I can see a little thinning at my hairline, but my husband insists I'm imagining it. Anyway, it's a small trade-off. :)

I am 10 weeks out and am NOT losing any hair - YET. Im hoping it wont happen since I am losing slowly. Wonder how many people have made it through the first year without losing hair?

I have very short hair and already thin hair...sooo when I started losing hair at 6 months out I freaked!   I am now going on 9 months out and can honestly say no-one but me noticed the hair thinning.   It seems worse than it is when its your hair.  LOL

I have. I could tell that the hair folicle was weaker about 1 month out and from there I have been increasingly losing hair. For the style I wear a combover has saved the day but it isn't definitely thinner and hard to work with. Since I have short hair, if this doesn't let up I will definitely have to wear a wig or hair piece.

Although I take biotin and eat 80grams of protein or more daily, I am still only eat 1 1/2 oz pr meal so it is to be expected.

I was so hoping that I would escape it but here at 6 months out (yesterday) I have noticed a good bit of thinning. No one notices but me, but my ponytail is quite a bit thinner than it used to be and I have to tease up the crown a little to hide a growing part. I have black hair and very light skin - it's noticeable at the part if I don't. But it's a trade-off I'm willing to pay.
At 8-10 weeks I was celebrating thinking I was going to be one of the lucky ones. Ha! By week 11 it was coming out pretty steady, several hairs in the drain, but not horrible. Again, I celebrated.

By month 3, it was coming out in droves. I had to clean the drain and my brush pretty much daily.

I was telling my husband yesterday that I think (at just over 6 months 10 days) it's finally slowing down. We're back to just several hairs in the drain and I don't put my hand through it and come up with tons of it. We've also noticed less all over the bed sheets.

It was pretty significant. I'd say I lost 1/3 to 1/2. I had to cut it short when the hot rollers wouldn't stay in any longer to give it a little volume. I had very fine hair and it's pretty fly away.

I can see what I think is a little regrowth, 1" hairs poking out here and there. I'm not all that worried. It was annoying and I was starting to panic around month 5 (which was the worst month). I'm hoping this will taper off completely over the next month or two and I can move on from this stage. I'm over it.

I'm just a few days out from my surgery so I can't speak to current hair loss. But, I've had 3 c-sections and each time, I think around the 90 day mark, I went through a massive hair loss episode. It all came back in time. I just assume this is the body's reaction to the stress from the surgery. Now if there was just a way to convince the body to shed just the gray hairs and let me keep the naturally colored ones

Regards,
Mel
I have not had any hair loss.  I'm usually not a lucky person, but I now consider myself lucky.

My hair started falling out around 2 1/2 months and got better around 5 - 6 months. I would run my hand through my hair and it would be full of strands. And the shower drain had to be cleaned every time. I had several inches cut off so it wouldn't be so heavy, but it still fell out. Good news is, no one here that I've read about has gone bald. So that's good!!
