It's hard to believe that two weeks ago today I was in the operating room getting sleeved.  Today I got on the scale and saw that I've lost 31 pounds!  Originally I'd lost 20 pounds pre-op, then gained them back with water retention/swelling.  Those came off the first week post-op and now I've lost an additional 11 pounds.

I'm so excited!   Even though I'm monumentally bored with the liquid diet, I remind myself that I can do anything for a few weeks.  So, two more weeks of "full liquids" and I move to pureed foods.  The results are worth the effort.

I get in my protein and fluids.  I'm active.  In short, I'm doing everything the doctor instructed.

The results are worth everything we do, have done, or will do on our sleeve journies.

Happy day!

Congrats! That must be so exciting to see the scale rapidly plumetting!

I'm 8 days pre-op & so excited! It's amazing how much difference there is in the post-op diet plans. I'm currently on a 2-wk pre-op liquid diet, but then after surgery it's only a couple days of liquids, by day 3 we're able to have pureed fruits, yogurt, etc. & Wks 2-7 we can have deli meats, eggs, cottage cheese, string cheese, peeled/cooked veggies, soups, & fish. Then wk 8 & beyond we can add the other 'tougher' stuff back into our diet (like raw fruits & veggies, etc.). It sounds like your surgeon is even more cautious than mine, but I've heard a bunch of ones that were more lenient. Anyways, that was probably not helpful but it just amazes me the variations out there.

Best wishes getting through the next few weeks!

I was definitely surprised about our programs rapid advancement to regular foods compared to a lot of other programs. Also, there is not a strict calorie/ carb requirement like most...unless I am missing something. I will have to ask Dr H about that when I have my second visit. I am sure he has data to back up the reasoning, but I am curious why the diet has a quicker progression than most. Not that I'm complaining.

congrats!! I am 6 days out and down 21 lbs. That includes my pre-op loss as well. It feels great to be moving in the right direction doesn't it?!

WOW!!! that is fantastic!  I am just 4 days post op and won't be getting on the scale for a few more days.  I hope I am floored with the results when I see them.  I have just been pushing fluids and today will start aiming to add in some clear proteins (broth from unjury).  I already tried on a shirt that was SO tight before the pre op liquid diet and it fits fine now in the top half (stomach area is another issue, lol)

My surgeon is also conservative with adding in the soft foods.  We do 1 week clear, two weeks full liquids and then can add soft things like cottage cheese and yogurt on week 4.  It's a rough month for sure but it's only a month and I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Plus, I'm more nervous so I will be extra cautious trying new things.  Slow and steady!

Keep up the great work..sure is worth it!

Thanks, everyone!  I know that results differ from person to person so I try not to compare myself to others.  I'm just excited to see steady progress.
