I didn't even try it until I was a year out.  Didn't have any trouble with it (it was soft french bread), but didn't eat a lot of it either.  I still avoid bread for the most part - too many calories and not enough nutritional bang for the buck.

If you want to test the waters, I'd start with something toasty or dry.  People seem to have more problems with the soft, untoasted breads.

I have tried it. I have trouble with soft white bread and buns. I can tolerate sourdough bread and the hawaiian sweet rolls. only a little of course but its hard to make a grilled cheese sandwich or pulled pork sandwich without bread. but i dont have it very often, less than once a week.

I didn't have bread till I reached my weight loss goal at the year mark. Even now, 2 1/2 years post-op, I still limit bread and carbs in order to maintain without a lot of effort.

I've eaten some bread with no problems. but I try to stay away because I can fill my diet with it. I'm looking forward to trying some protein bread if it exists. Then it will actually be worthwhile.

Wow.  You can have bread after less than a month?  I was sleeved two weeks ago and am on full liquids until the 24th, then purees for a couple of weeks.  I don't think I get to try bread until soft foods.

Every doctor's plan is different for their patients.  I guess I would just remember that your stomach needs to be reintroduced to each new food you put in it so I'd stick with small bites after having had your protein.  Your body will tell you what it can tolerate.

Good luck!

Wow, i had my sleeve on the 13th and I still am on mushies, def not cleared for bread.  However, I dont think I want to go down that path until I lose more weight, with the carbs and all. Good luck though!

Just because you can have it doesn't mean you should. Bread really doesn't do anything helpful for us sleevers. Doesn't help us get in protein. Doesn't help us to optomize fat burning. Doesn't help us avoid carb cravings. So why have it? I am at goal and really don't have bread much at all. Leave those old foods and habits behind and build new ones. And try to wait until goal or after to incorporate limited amounts of other foods then.
