So I have been on contact with Sandy Johnston at alightme.com and they have recommended Dr Garcia to perform my sleeve surgery. The only thing is I am not sure if this is a scam or not. I cannot find anything bad about tis doctor but I also do not see many reviews about him either and to me it would not take much topost 7 fake reviews about a Dr.

I have messaged a few people that have posted about him and have not received any responses, I have also asked his staff to email me some contact names of people who have had Dr Garcia perform their surgery and have not heard back so I am starting to get disappointed I thought this might actually work.

I really would like to have this procedure but it will cost about $18,000 to have this done here in Canada and I just cannot afford that

Any help or advice that anyone can give me???

Thanks

I am having my surgery done in Mexicali, MX on 16 March by Dr Alberto Aceves. I have heard and read nothing but glowing remarks about him and his team. I do not have insurance, so this is coming out of my pocket. The price for everything - labs, hospital stay, surgery, anesthesia, 1 night hotel stay prior to surgery, etc is $8,750. All you have to pay for is the flight to/from San Diego, CA.
Good luck!!!

Hi! I'm not sure about that Dr, but I went to Dr Aceves 11/4/11 and he's AMAZING! I highly recommend you look into him first! Good Luck!

Like the prior two posters I heard good things about Dr Aceves too. I chose Dr Alvarez (hundreds and hundreds of glowing reports) who does it in Piedras Niegras Mexico. It's only a mile over the border. You fly to San Antonio texas and their drivers handle all the rest, hotel, ground transportation, surgery, hospital, it's all included for the $8,750.

Dr Alvarez was awesome and his staff was great. I can't believe how easy they made it!!! I am 4 days post op and so glad I chose him. He was WAY more experienced than my original surgeon that I'd planned to go with that is here in the States. He's done thousands of sleeves and he is really great. check him out too before you make your decision!

I had Dr. Verboonen in mexico for my lap band and then after for my sleeve and he was fantastic! his staff was so helpful and months after my surgery they are still in contact with me asking how everything is going. He works from Cancun and Tijuana. also his prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend him. I did a lot of research of various doctors before and he had really great reviews.

Hello, I am having the sleeve with Dr.Garcia the 16th, yay! I am going through alighterme and only have good things to say. My cordinater is kind and responds to all my emails and phone calls. I already sent in my money for the surgery, and all is well. Dr. Garcia doesn't market himself that much, but he has over (from my understanding-i went to a chicago conference that was for him, however his child was sick so he had his assistant fill his shoes) anyway he was said to have done over 4,000 bariatric surgeries. the assistant explained that he has had no deaths, but he has had 2 major complications in his time, however he dealt with these beautifully and appropriately, and those patients aer safe and doing well today. I feel safe in his hands, and have full trust in alighterme. I am so excited, only a week to go!! I will report back after my surgery to let you know how it goes.

My surgery went very well! Dr. Garcia & his staff were very kind & took great care of me. The gas pains were awful when I first woke up, but after walking a bit they were manageable. My surgery was Feb 16th & I have lost 50 pounds so far.

I also give a big toot for Dr. Aceves. Many Canadians have gone to him, and never heard of one single problem through him. I had a great experience and recovery. He also sleeved his assistant Dr. Campos who is adorable, and his driver Ernesto. That spoke volumes to me. He also has over 4000 lap procedures as well, and speaks fluent English. Nothing but great things to say about him.
