Post Date: 2/11/12 6:06 am Helllo, sorry to hear you are in afib, yes I would call my Dr asap. I had an afib episode prior to surgery, and a couple of episodes after. It seems it was caused by me with the change to a crushable for of medication, and dosage. I had to be electrically converted several different times to get back to normal rythem. I had concerns also about call my cardiologist, and found out that he preferred I call asap when a afib started. They ended up putting me on an anti arrithmia medication. It stopped and had no trouble in months. Also, there is a time window for electrically converting your rythem,When it occurs they tell me to go to the Er, seems to be common when I arrive, they knew how to handle. Best wishes.
P.s. when I was electrically converted they put me to sleep, and put sticky electrical pads on your chest and back. ask them to remove the sticky chest pads while you are out. Kinda hurts if you have a hairy chest...
