I have doubts

I'm on day 3 of the pre-op diet and this I much harder than I thought.  I'm so hungry right now.  My surgeon changed the pre-op diet and it's restricted and limiting.  Just need to vent because I want to throw in the towel.  Please pray for me!

From what I have heard, the third day is usually the hardest, because that is when our bodies are trying to hang on to the last bits of carbs from meals we had a few days ago. Keep going. You can do this! March 1st will be here before you know it

I will definitely be praying for you. God will give you what you need to persevere. My NUT told me that the first 3 days were the hardest and then you adapted which is what I did. This is only temporary and is one of the steps to get you going on your journey to healthy.

YOu can do it!

I was miserable on pre-op diet. I was going to bed at 8pm just so I would not eat. Two weeks will pass in the blink of an eye and I am so glad I had the surgery. It is all worth it!!
Hi  I  am  also on my  third  day,  surgery is  the  29th.  I  am  hurgery now  and  then  but  eat  the  protein  and  it  cures  it  for  a while.
Thanks for the support and words of encouragement.  I guess have to take 1 day at a time, I'm sure I won't regret it.

Hi. Everyone is right-you CAN do this, this is only temporary and SO worth it, and the time WILL fly by. I think you are allowed a small bit of solid food, which is good. In any case, space out your meals a little so that you will be following your diet but not waiting too long between meals-this really helped me because  I didn't ever get a chance to get hungry. I was just sleeved on Valentine's day and had a very smooth surgery- I believe that losing a few pounds(I think I lost about 10) helped a lot- no pain, gas broke up when I started walking later on the same day as surgery. Keep focused and all will be well- I now say this from experience- and see you soon on the losers bench. And definitely stay active on the OH site for support and encouragement! Best of luck- YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

You got this - just keep yourself really busy!  Also - SF popsicles and SF jello help - you feel like you're having solids.

Stay strong, you can do this!

Hi: Suitebliss
You have come this far, DON'T GIVE UP NOW, it will not help you or us. When we start on this journey, we are not alone, you / I have a whole lot of folks reading and following your every step, just to see how they will do when they go on their own journey. Do whatever it takes to stay focused on you goals. No one on OH will ever say that getting to the losers bench is easy nor a walk in the park, it takes lots of hard work.
Don't worry I pray for all my OH brothers & sisters everyday, that's my duty as a Christian man.
Godspeed.

I'm on Day 12 of the pre-op diet.  4 protien shakes a day.   The first 4 days were extremely difficult.  Now it's not so bad.   It's just the head hunger that's the problem now.   You can do it...just keep your eye the prize!

Just keep going. I only had 7 days liquids pre op but I'm telling you those first 3 days are the WORST!! Day 4 your body, I think, just gives up and is like...okay whatever. Feed me or don't. LOL I wasn't really as hungry after that and was getting into the habit of not eating. You can do this. You will not regret it. Make a list of all the things you look forward to as a thinner version of yourself. Post it on your fridge or bathroom mirror. Don't take your eye off of the prize. It's worth it. It's WORTH IT!
I think I would die if my dr. did it that way... I only have to do the liquid diet the day prior.  Then at night I have to drink some lovely juice to flush my system and that is it... My husband just had surgery a week ago yesterday and it doing great (lost 21 lbs already).... hang in there you can do it...keep your eye on the prize and make sure you have your prize already in your mind for your goal weight... Mine is that the whole family will go to the Bahamas to swim with the dolphins!!! I can't wait.  It is something that I have always wanted to do but could not imagine putting on a wet suit...but with my new body....I will be ALL SET!!

GOOD LUCK!!!
