One month Post Op Plateau

I am one month post-op and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to why I would hit a plateau with weight loss.  I lost almost 16 pounds in the first two weeks, but have since quit losing.  I consume anywhere from 900 to 1200 calories a day, getting in at least 70 or more grams of protein daily.  I make pretty good food choices and I am back to spinning two times per week and walk at least a mile daily.  Any thoughts or words of comfort out there?

Sounds like a typical three-week stall. Just about everyone here experiences it, and it will go away if you keep pushing.

Just a thought, but your calorie intake sounds a little high for one month post op, as most here seem to do best on 600-800 calories a day. I'm not saying you HAVE to cut back to that number to be successful, but what do your doctor's instructions say you should be doing? Maybe cutting out a few carbs would speed things along again.

I have found that increasing physical activity is a good way to break a stall. I am working on breaking one myself.

Definitely the dreaded stall.  I agree with previous post about the calorie count being too high.  Should be between 600-800.

Keep in mind all, that I am burning around 600 calories daily in the gym.  Many of you are recommending I drop to 600-800 calories a day, but given what I am burning in the gym, is that really a good idea?

Your calories are fine.  Many can't get their protien from food and seem to have lower numbers.  The stall is completely normal.  Keep doing what you're doing and the scale will start moving again.

Thank you so much!  I was freaking out because I thought I was going to have to drop my calories down to 800.  I already feel lightheaded sometimes because I net so few calories after I go to the gym.  I don't think I can go much lower, lol!

I was at 3 weeks on Monday and noticed that I've stalled a bit too.  I'm not getting in enough water or protein, but I'm trying my hardest.  It's good to know that it's the "3 week stall".  Now I know I'm not the only one going through it.
