Surgery on Monday with Dr. Alvarez

I have surgery this Monday and I am so excited/nervous.  I am starving to death though, so I am glad it is soon.

Any tips for the hospital stay?  ANything I need to anticipate?  I am better if I know what is coming.  Dr. Alvarez is my surgeon.
Woo Hoo!  Congratulations!  My best advice is try to relax (yeah, right!)...just pack your loose fitting clothing, toiletries and have your kitchen stocked with what you need when you get home.  Good luck and here's to a stellar recovery!!!!

What hospital is your Dr out of.  I am on Monday at the INT with Dr. Ponce de Leon

Surgery 4 Jun 12 Dr Ponce de Leon in Mexico I was down 57 lbs prior to surgery.

You will LOVE Dr. Alvarez and his staff!  They are top-notch.  I have not had a single problem in the almost four years since Dr. A sleeved me.

Take some chapstick and some mouthwash or mouth-moisturizing spray or rinse.  Your mouth will be dry as the Sahara before he lets you have even ice chips.  You can, however, rinse your mouth and spit and slather on some chapstick and it really helps!

Other than that, the only thing I was glad I took was a lot of those individual packets of Crystal Light to mix in my water bottle while I was in the hotel post-op.

The best advice I can give you for post-op, though, is to walk walk walk just as soon as you can -- up and down the hall at the hospital and then at the hotel, every half hour or so; and sip sip sip constantly! Those two things, I'm convinced, made my recovery a breeze.  Best wishes on your journey :-)

Yeah for you!  Dr. A did my surgery and I have not had even ONE complication.

Ditto on the Crystal Light, mouth wash/spray and chapstick.  Also, don't over pack.  You will sleep most of the time post op.

If you want more info, PM me and I'll chat with you more on the topic.

Congratulations!  You will LOVE Dr. A, Dr. Gabe, Jessica and the whole staff.
