Is anyone else freezing after surgery?  I CANNOT get warm!!  Is this normal?  it's way hot outside and I still feel chilled out there!

Oh yes .. I have heard this from many people post op.  I was always hot before surgery.  Always sweating and having the AC on .. now it can be 90+ outside and I'm good.  Kinda weird.

Yes, I froze and am still freezing most days.   I had my surgery in October and turned on the heat when I walked in the door and I think it went on last week.  Kind of funny because I was always the person that said "Go put on a sweater" and now I am turning up the heat.

Yes, I've had to spend hundreds of dollars on warm jackets...had no idea they'd be so expensive!

I am pre op and have heard this happens.. I am hoping it happens to me because I am so sick and tired of being hot even when it can be 50 out and I'll still be sweating!!! My husband hopes I get cold also because in the winter he is freezing while I'm uncovered with the fan blowing in the dead of winter!!!

This is very normal.  You've lost your yellow fat insulation.  Your body will ramp up brown fat production (which is thermogenic) but is a 1-2 year process.

Stay layered.

I still have plenty of yellow fat   haha!

Aw, hell! My surgery was in December. I froze my ass off for several months. It was awful! Since I've jacked up the exercise and the weather is nice and warm I don't get too cold anymore.

I used to sweat like a pig in a sauna during the warm weather. Yesterday it was 103 and I didn't break a sweat! I gotta love that!

You'll learn very quickly to dress in layers and always have a jacket or a sweater with you when you go out - especially in the evenings!

Yes I am cold all the time.

Hi, I also get really cold. It was 90 degrees outside today & I was comfortable. I think I'm going to enjoy summer for the 1st time in a long time!

I was a cold fat girl and now I am miserable unless it i**** outside.
I really can't stand a/c and hubby likes to have the windows down in the car or the air on full blast. I take a jacket with me everywhere.

http://www.youtube.com/user/72Crabadams   Me rambling about my journey : )

All I can say is "Thank God" because I'm pre-op, menapausal and FAT.  I can not wait to be post op and COLD.  I have not been cold since the 90's.
Same here. Pre-op I was ALWAYS hot. Used to leave the windows open in the winter. I am currently sitting in my office with my little heater on. My guess would be it's probably about 80 in here (it's 72 in the other offices and it feels like a sauna in here compared to them). Oh, and my feet are still freezing!
